He's shown flashes of being a plus range defender, and even had a long stretch back in 2018 of playing plus defense, but to me, this is his make or break year at 3B.
  2. moonslav59
True, but he may be better than Devers at 3B, and maybe Devers can be a plus defender at 1B before too long.

    Ooops! LOL!
  5. moonslav59
9 relief pitchers, and we are warming up the worst one? YUCK!
  6. moonslav59
No way he goes even a full 7.
  7. moonslav59
I was thinking we'll start scoring once the pen comes in.

    1. Devers had the range to get that, he just backed off. 2. Bogey took too long to throw the ball. 3. The high throw did not allow Dalbec to full stretch forward to get the out, anyway. Then, a Kike error and a Fenway double. YUCK- a Doodle-Doo!
  9. moonslav59
Yank him. He clearly is lost.
  10. moonslav59
    Ugly

    All season.
  12. moonslav59
He should be in CF. Not that Arroyo or Marwin are Pedey at 2B,either.
  13. moonslav59
Don't have a good feeling about this.
  14. moonslav59
Andriese better preserve E-O's nice outing.
  15. moonslav59
Yes, but Bogey should have made that play. Even a non high throw would have allowed Dalbec to stretch forward and get the runner out. I'm not sure Devers would have gotten him out.

2021 All-Star Game, Draft relocated WWW.MLB.COM Major League Baseball announced on Friday that it will relocate the 2021 All-Star Game and MLB Draft, originally scheduled to take place in Atlanta, to a to-be-determined location. The decision comes a little more than a week after the passage of S.B. 202, a Georgia law that President Joe Biden

They wanted to make sure, as much as one can in a "crap shoot" playoff system. Yes, it was overkill. We won a ring, so it was worth it. Now, we pay the price.
  18. moonslav59
Agreed, even if he does well.
  19. moonslav59
Tek at 10 is a feat.
  20. moonslav59
    A team of DH's.
  21. moonslav59
Is it retroactive to a certain date?

MLBTR... The Red Sox and right-handed reliever Matt Barnes discussed a contract extension during the spring, but there’s little optimism about a deal coming together, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com writes. That leaves the 30-year-old on track to reach free agency next winter, and in the meantime, he’ll earn $4.5MM this season. The hard-throwing Barnes, a career-long member of the Red Sox, has pitched to a 4.08 ERA with a 29.9 percent strikeout rate in 337 1/3 innings since debuting in 2014. He amassed 60-plus innings in each season from 2016-19.

I was just noting additions and subtractions for two teams that were nearly tied, last year. I agree: the Yanks look better on paper- assuming good health.
  24. moonslav59
    "nine lives"
  25. moonslav59
Agreed, but certainly our bottom of the order does not have any "black holes.: Vaz has an OPS around .800 from 2019-2020. Dalbec looks very promising. Between Cordero, Marwin, Arroyo, Chavis, Duran and maybe even Downs or Munoz, we should be able to field a decent hitter for our "flex slot."
