    It made total sense, and I didn't take it like a criticism. Devers reminds me of Adrian Beltre as a batter. When all the other Sox players couldn't figure out a pitcher in a groove, Beltre would slug a 3 run job to put us in the game.

    He's too smart for that. I wouldn't change a thing about Devers. My philosophy has always been that a team needs batters with different approaches.

    The guy was up and down his whole career. Why do we need a special excuse, this time? He may even get hot, like many years past and end up over .700 or even near .800 again. This is who he is. I miss him, but his time, here, was up.

    Let's say you're a MLB pitcher back in the 70's and one day, you use a different soap to wash your hands, and that day, you have a much better grip on the ball. Would it be cheating, if you kept on using that soap? Of course not, but you can see where I'm going with this. Yes, soap has never been banned, as long as you're not slopping it on the ball, and there should be limits on just what can and cannot be used, but to me, this is just another knee-jerk reaction made to counter an earlier blundering knee-jerk reaction made by MLB.
