He's on pace to blowing away his defensive innings at catcher. Plawecki has done a fine job. I'm sure Cora knows what he's doing, but I think we'll see Vaz getting more time off, going forward.

You both are right. Maybe they wait for Arroyo or Marwin to return to give Bogey a 10 day IL stint.

Agreed. It doesn't help that Arroyo and Marwin are out hurt. We can play Kike at SS and Chavis at 2B and maybe call up Arauz, but Ughhh!

Wong's M.O. was always questioning his defense and suggesting he may switch positions. He looked good in his brief call up, but it was too brief.

What does this have to do to refute the point that their OPS is affected by the pitcher needing to hit? If we had to bat our pitcher, our OPS would be worse than LA's. We'd still have our 1Bman hitting.

Agreed. They could have stripped them of their title and taken away draft picks. The evidence was irrefutable they cheated, and so many player players had bust out/outlier seasons.

Not as much as Richards. There are others better and not as costly as Scherzer. (That was my point.)

Carlos Santana may not do what Pearce did, but he only has to hit .750 to blow Dalbec away. Jon Gray should do better than Richards.

If we added Jon Gray and Carlos Santana, we'd be the AL Faves, unless HOU or the CWS go nutty at the deadline. We will have a decent chance against the Dodgers, Padres or Giants, but will not be the faves. We seem to rise up in the WS, but this team is not the same as 2018. This is a magical season. I'm not for radically changing things at the expense of an even brighter future. (Kimmi, where are you? I need some support!)

I just think this is not the time you go blockbuster- especially for a rental. I loved the Sale deal. I think we can make a couple trades like we did in 2018, but back then, we were the faves before those trades.

Vaz needs some rest. I'd at least play Plawecki at catcher. (maybe he does game 2) With Bogey getting a day off, there's not much more we can do. Cordero is on the bench, but he's a lefty who sucks vs lefties. I might bat Dalbec 5th, Dugo 6th and Vaz 7th, but it's no biggie.

I said we won't be faves. We can compete. I don't think you go all out, until you think you can be the faves. I know I'm in the minority. I respect other views on this.

When we play at LA, we will have a pitcher and a 1Bman batting. When they play in BOS, they will not have a pitcher batting.
