  1. Bobby Dee up to .726, now. The fact that he can go from .655 to .726 in just 3 games shows how small his sample size is. His career numbers are now: .775 OPS (.300 OBP/.475 SLG) .239 22 68 (21 2B+3B) in 420 PAs Projected to 650 PAs: .239 34 107 Posters wanted him demoted, myself included, recently. Posters even wanted him DFA'd. Rinse & repeat.
  2. You had me, until the Barnes bashing. BTW, I like the new avatar.
  3. I get that. Really, I do, but don't say DD didn't make an extreme amount of prospects trades, many of them highly touted, at the time, some not as high as the rankings I posted indicated. It was extreme, but it was worth it. We won a ring, and not many of the guys he traded have done anything close to lighting the world on fire. It's okay to love what DD did, but not sugar coat what it ended up leading to.
  4. Let's see if Martin Perez can begin to start a discussion about the possibility of us even talking about him possibly taking a more important role in the bottom of the pen.
  5. Even many of our outs were scorchers.
  6. This is fun. Who cares, if it's a AAA team? The O's are part of every AL team's success.
  7. Bobby Dee We are family!
  8. NEVER!!! (lol)
  9. Good way to break Sale back into the fold.
  10. That is nice, especially seeing Bobby Dee's dinger. How about the top, though? 18. 19. All-in-all, a pretty good game by Sale. 70 pitches- 47 strikes. He hit 95 a couple time, I think. The dinger was not good, but I'm glad to see him back. His presence in the clubhouse has to give us a big boost, too.
  20. The thing about Price was that he and Scherzer were two of the best FA starters to come along in a pretty wide window. Once we failed to pounce on Scherzer, I think we had to sign Price. The other thing was that when you sign an aging pitcher like Price to 8 years, you really want some big bangs in the first few years. I never saw it. Sure, he had some good years and key moments, but he was far from Scherzer.
  21. I'm not doubting your reasons for liking Sevi's chances and timeline over Sale, but I still find it kinda funny. Plus, I tried to tell you Sale is no average patient.
  22. The tax affects very few teams and players, especially the 3rd year part. The number one thing players should fight for, IMO, is greater pay equity. When 1 or two players can make more than a whole team, something is out of whack. Min wage should be tripled or quadrupled, time to reach arbs reduced and the amount of arb years, as well.
  23. I'm looking forward to eventually seeing our best possible line-up of the season, real soon: 1. Enrique Hernandez CF 2. Alex Verdugo LF 3. Xander Bogaerts SS 4. Rafael Devers 3B 5. J.D. Martinez DH 6. Kyle Schwarber 1B 7. Hunter Renfroe RF 8. Kevin Plawecki C 9. Christian Arroyo 2B (on IL right now)
  24. 2021 Sox Current Records: 67-51 Boston (5th best in AL/8th in MLB) 46-40 Worcester (10th best in league) 52-34 Portland (2nd best in league) 46-41 Greenville (5th best) 51-36 Salem (3rd best)
  25. Can you name a time any Sox GM traded away that many top 20 prospects in such a short time? Can you not see how someone might say what he did was extreme, beyond thinking it was worth it or not? The fact is, it was rather extreme to trade so many prospects in such a short time. Prospects traded (top soxprospects.com ranking)- not saying all these guys were great or even ended up being good, or if the tardes worked or not, but the sheer number traded was clearly extreme. (Also, some of these prospects ranking were way lower when traded.) 1 Yoan Moncada (.822 OPS since 2019) 1 Blake Swihart 3 Manuel Margot (.694 career OPS, but plus defender and .895 in playoffs) 3 Anderson Espinoza 5 Michael Kopech (2.53 ERA in 46 IP, this year/3.12 career) 5 Jalen Beeks (4.23ERA w TBR) 6 Javier Guerra 7 Luis Ax Basabe 9 Marcus Dubon (.700 OPS in 450 PAs) 11 Shaun Anderson 12 Travis Shaw (not a prospect when traded) 12 Wendell Rijo 13 Logan Allen 18 Luis Aj Basabe 18 Jamie Callahan 20 Carlos Asuaje 20 Stephen Nogosek 20 Gerson Bautista Ty Buttrey (had 3.86 ERA w LAA '19-'20)
