  1. I know, but I disagree with Sox fans that bitch about not spending enough, too. I'd love for us to spend more, but these owners are in this to make as much money as possible. It's ingrained in our culture.
  2. I think Whitlock can be very good at any role they give him in 2022.
  3. Bloom got just about everyone on one year deals. If they were worried about the new CBA, they could have just added more short term deals or deadline deals, but maybe he wanted to start off in 2022 with a clean slate and a baseline tax.
  4. I'd make Houck the closer and Whitlock our #4 starter. My second choice is both in the pen. 3rd: Houck start: Whitlock pen. 4th: both start.
  5. Yankee payroll above league average: 2021 and backwards... $72M (2nd in MLB in payroll) $52M (1st) $99M (3rd) $32M (7th) $61M (1st) $70M (2nd) $104M (2nd) $86M (2nd) $138M (1st) $109M (1st) $115M (1st) $121M (1st) $119M (1st) Since 2008:L rankings in spending (2008>2021) NYY: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 7, 3, 1, 2 LAD: 7, 9, 12, 12, 12, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 4, 2, 1 BOS: 4, 4, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 1, 1, 3, 3 DET: 3, 5, 6, 10, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 19, 20, 22, 23 PHI:12, 7, 4, 2, 2, 3, 3, 9, 9, 21, 24, 13, 7, 5
  6. You seemed quite happy with the deadline moves.
  7. That was true under George, too. It cracks me up hearing jacko cry about not spending.
  8. It was the plan all along. Use Eovaldi on his throwing day. That's not what lost the game. If we have to throw blame at Cora, and that seems like a ritual after every loss, and even after many wins, it was yanking Pivetta too early and bringing in Perez. Even just having Perez on the roster was pointless, unless you use him in 8 run games.
  9. Being second in spending almost every year, first in some, is not the reason you guys can't win. You are basically admitting you guys bought the George rings and want to go back to that. The Yanks led the league in spending something like 15 straight seasons up to 2014. Afterwards, you guys spent way more than 25 other teams every year. http://www.stevetheump.com/Payrolls.htm It's not the money. Recently, you added Cole. You expect more and more?
  10. How confident were you in ERod a couple starts ago? Or, even his last start? You always seem so doom & gloom.
  11. It's sick. I still can't understand why anybody is against robo umps.
  12. Great pitching effort for 7 innings.
  13. It's like they wanted it to be 2-2.
  14. I've been asking all along, why is he even on the roster?
  15. Gotta stop the momentum cold, tomorrow.
  16. Because somebody thought we needed 13 pitchers.
  17. That moment really struck me hard. You could just tell what was being said, and the connection being so strong.
  18. How dare anyone criticize my enabler!
  19. It was Kike disguised as Jake.
  20. It could be easy to beat all the non 2013 seasons.
  21. Of course. All the talk of having about $40M to spend could vanish in a second.
  22. Indeed, but they did add Cole, extend LeMahieu and add a bunch of moderate deals, including $11M on Kluber. My guess is, they spend big, this winter (Seger, Correa, Story and a pitcher).
  23. MLBTR Previews the Starting Pitcher FA Class of 2022: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/10/mlb-free-agent-preview-starting-pitchers.html Paraphrasing...
