  1. it’s fitting that the whole Yankee season, in terms of being buyers or sellers may come down to this Red Sox series.
  2. They can demote a pitcher.
  3. The Sox now have 7 batters over .750, despite Renfroe and Verdugo tredning the wrong way. The BID THREE! .953 JD (the man on top) .924 Devers (forevers- lock him up!) .909 Bogey (battling an injury- gutting it out) Gotta stay solid! .792 Arroyo (gotta stay healthy!) .783 Kike (Man on Fire!) .780 Renfroe (Jacks only) .751 Verdugo (Long slump) Need 1or 2 to rise up! .677 Plawecki .661 Dalbec .650 Vaz Desperation time! .582 Marwin .574 Chavis .554 Santana .501 Cordero .647 Duran (tiny sample size)
  4. I hope the Yanks are buyers at the deadline. Trade your future! PLEASE! 2021 Trade Deadline ideas for Yankees WWW.MLB.COM If the Yankees are going to reach the postseason again in 2021, general manager Brian Cashman likely needs to ace the Trade Deadline. It’s been an up-and-down season in the Bronx, but the team is maintaining a win-now philosophy, and reinforcements are necessary to shake up a problematic roster. We
  5. Sox back to the top of the AL.(Tied with CWS) 58-38 BOS 58-38 CWS 59-39 HOU 57-39 TBR (-1.0 ALE) 55-42 OAK (2nd WC leader +3.5) 50-44 NYY -3.5 2nd WC slot 51-45 SEA -3.5 48-44 TOR -4.5 48-45 CLE -5.0 NL 59-35 SFG 59-37 LAD (-1.0 NLW/ 1st WC) 56-41 MIL 56-42 SDP (2nd WC +6.0) 50-43 NYM 49-47 CIN -6.0 WC 47-47 PHI -7.0 WC but -3.5 NLE (ATL -4.5 NLE) (WSH -6.0 NLE)
  6. Yanks win on walk off sac fly in the 10th by LaMarre. The stage is set in Boston, tomorrow night.
  7. All in the bottom of the 9th in tie games, right?
  8. 11 HRs in the last 2 games. Kike's OPS is now up to .783. Renfroe to .780. Devers .924. JD up to .953. Will Kike pass Arroyo's .792, tomorrow? The guy was at .660 on June 19th, and posters were writing him off as a bad signing just 1/4th of the way through his contract. He was at .720 June 29th .740 July 8th (10 days later) .744 July 17th Last 2 games: 5 for 9 with 2BB (On base 7 of 11) 3 HR 2 2B 5 RBI Kike da man! His great defense has been revealed.
  9. No more messing with start times. Going against the lefty, so Dalbec will play. Big game for Houck. Bigger game for the Yanks, as they try to determine if they will buy or sell. I was kinda hoping they'd be buyers, but not at our expense. GO SOX!!!!
  10. Yes, trading Bobby Dee, so we don't have to cut his ass.
  11. On the farm... Worcester won 7-4 Arauz 3-, HR, BB Wong 1-5, HR Cordero 0-4 Portland won 11-6 Crawford 6 IP 2 ER 7H, 0BB, 9K Fitzgerald 4-4 Pereda 2-3, 2B, BB Rosario 2-5 Potts 2-4, 2B T Reed 1-2, 2B, 2 RBI
  12. With no Marwin and Santana and Arroyo also on the IL, the flex bench is very limited. We might want to call up Cordero and Arauz, and send a pitcher down, so Cora can have more bench flex.
  13. He's playing hurt. Too bad Arroyo is out, or we could give him a longer rest than just a game here and there. Too bad he made the ASB and had to go.
  14. That was a nice win. Good to see the HR ball, but that park is teeny tiny. Richards looked good until... he didn't. I'm starting to think any pitcher not named Nathan or Eduardo should just be yanked after 5 or 6 or the first sign of trouble in the 4th or beyond.
  15. Is there really nobody better?
  16. I'm happy for him, but it may be smoke and mirrors. 1.526 WHIP .823 OPS Against
  17. Yes, when Verlander was traded to the Astros at the waiver deadline in 2017, he still had 2 full years fter 2017 and an option for 2020. Greinke was traded in July 2019 and had 2 more years of team control left. So, who is the best rated rental pitcher traded in the last few years?
  18. Thanks. 50 years was a long wait but we had some good teams in between
  19. See my last post. Plus, Barnes got $8M x 2. Perez is owed $6M x 1 and will pitch twice as many innings as Barnes.
  20. Not many $6M pitchers have given what Perez has given. Now, if he keeps pitching like his last 8 starts (6.23 ERA), then of course, we say no. I'm not all that big on recency as the only or major factor, but how many SP'ers in MLB, today have had 19 starts with these amount of decent to good one? IP ER 7.2 0 (@ HOU) 6.0 0 (v LAA) 5.1 1 5.1 1 5.0 1 5.0 1 3.2 0 5.2 2 5.1 2 5.0 2 5.0 2 6.0 3 5.0 3 3.2 2 He's really only had 5 bad starts out of 19, but 4 have been in the last 8 starts. Note: Within the last 8 games, he had a 3 game stretch with a 1.88 ERA but an .853 OPS Against. Here's the things that catch my eye. 1. Perez imploded after they let him go 7.2 IP at Houston. I think he should be a 2-3 inning guy. 2. In those 5 bad starts, here were his first 2-3 inning numbers: 4/18 3.2 IP 4 ER, but... 3 IP 1 ER (on 2 ground ball singles and 2 line drive singles) 6/8 2 IP 6 ER (no buts) 6/13 1.1 IP 5 ER (no buts) 7/10 3.2 IP 3 ER, but 2 HRs did him in. 7/18 4 IP 3 ER, but 2 IP 1 ER, then in 3rd inning, 2 ground ball singles (one cheap) and a ground out for the 2nd run allowed. (4 IP 2 ER) Then, in the 5th: bunt single, infield single and error and sac fly for 3rd run. Perez has pitched very well this year, but recently, no.
  21. You can never have too much SP'ing. This year is a fluke, concerning no SP'er IL's, except Sale & Seabold. If we end up with too many, teams will be beating down to door to trade for one. Perez seems great as a 2-3 inning guy. Use him in long relief. 2022 1. Sale 2. Eovaldi 3. FA 4. Pivetta 5. Whitlock 6. Houck 1. Barnes 2. FA 3. (Houck)/Taylor 4. DHern 5. Sawamura 6. Perez 7. Brasier/Valdez/Bazardo/Seabold/Winckowski
  22. I see your point but feel he needs to face better batters.
  23. As of now, I'd say no, but yes to Perez. That all could change.
  24. If he stays healthy, we might be surprised at what he gets, assuming he does okay the rest of the way (a big assumption).
