  1. One ghost is enough, please. We have 8 guys to DFA before Cordero, and yes, Cordero & Dalbec have some trade value.
  2. Did someone say by far? We just ranked them by preference.
  3. How can any Yank fan not know this. Papi Boggs Yaz Teddy
  4. I was talking when everyone is healthy, including Schwarber, himself, who may return about the time Arroyo does. (Marwin may be ready sooner.) LF: Verdugo>Schwarber CF: Kike/Duran > Verdugo/Duran 2B: Arroyo/Kike = Kike/Arroyo 1B: Schwarber
  5. Really? It's been like a week, and we were going through mental contortions trying to find a way to play everyone (when all healthy) before Schwarber.
  6. You weakened your farm considerably (and for what?). You are spinning this with the redundancy talk. I prefer future top 100's than former. Plus, I said "may have" not "have."
  7. That's how I see it. Playing him in LF, Verdugo in CF and Kike/Arroyo at 2B/1B would work, but then Duran is benched and we've weakened several positions, defensively for what?
  8. Even if they pay 90%, I'd hang up. He sucks. Dalbec/Cordero/Schwarber still has better upside than Hosmer. Hosmer used to suck every 2 years: now it's 3 out of 4 .720 .735 .851 .721
  9. There is still some good pitching available. I guess it depends on how much Bloom thinks the "win now" idea matters. We know he values the future highly, but the pressure to go for it, this year, must be there. My first choices would be Means, Berrios, Hendricks and Morton- in that order, but not if it coasts way too much. I think we settle for Gray, Pineda or Boyd (not on your list).
  10. Hosmer sucks. We need 2 starting pitchers. 1B is a distant third, and if the plan is to playSchwarber there , it’s not even our 26th priority.
  11. maybe the 3.03 ERA in his 6 previous starts will allow him a longer look, but our rotation is in shambles. There is no sugar coating it.
  12. Maybe they move him to 1B or trade Duran or Verdugo for Berrios.
  13. Even if we could count on ERod and Sale, we need at least 1 SP'er. It is clearly our highest need, but the deadline is still many hours away. Can we give Bloom some space?
  14. Ramirez plays 3B. He's way to costly. I'm not for trading away the farm. You keep asking me why. The answer will always be the same.
  15. Here are some BTV Values: 67.3 T Turner 1.3 yrs 43.4 J Gallo 1.3 yrs 12.1 Scherzer 0.3 yrs 8.6 Rizzo 0.3 yrs 6.3 Kimbrell 1.3 yrs 3.1 N Cruz 0.3 yrs 2.0 Schwarber 1.3 yrs 1.2 D Hudson 0.3 yrs Prospects: To WSH for Turner/Scherzer 40.7 Keibert Ruiz 28.7 Josiah Gray 1.6 G Carrillo 0.9 D Casey to TEX for Gallo 18.5 E Duran 14,5 C Schmidt 8.5 J Smith 1.5 J Breaux to MN for N Cruz 11.4 Ryan 2.4 Strotman to CHC for Rizzo 11.9 Alcantara 5.4 A Vizcaino to WSH for Schwarber 3.3 Aldo Ramirez to WSH for Hudson 1.0 Mason Thompson
  16. Would you rather have ... Schwarber or Rizzo? Schwarber or Gallo? Schwarber or N Cruz?
  17. Nope. We need SP'ers. Schwarber may be moved to 1B.
  18. 33 in the minors. Schwarber is on the IL. Could he rehab at 1B?
  19. 0 innings at 1B.
  20. That's likely. I don't see us trading an OF'er to make room. (Duran for Berrios? Trade Verdugo?) It seems we needed SP'ing and 1B most of all. This deal is a good one, but a bit puzzling.
  21. If Bloom can trade Richards and Perez to create some more budget space as well as roster space, we could do some more dealing. We may go over the tax line, and not need to but I think it might be smart anyways. We could even add a prospect that will not make our 40 man roster next year to either improve teh return or lessen the amount we have to pay on their contracts. Here are some bubble players and prospects that may not be part of the 2022 roster plan or beyond, besides Richards, Perez -both with options, Workman, Santana and Andriese (arb): Rios Chavis Wilson Arauz Potts Rosario Cordero Ward(rule 5?) (We could also trade Dalbec, if we get a 1Bman.)
  22. We need starters, as in multiple.
  23. Schwarber is owed: 21:$7M (about $3.3MM pro-rated, assuming no money changed hands.) 22:$11.5M mutual option ($3M buyout) This deal puts us close to the tax line but not over it.
