  1. It was sarcasm.
  2. I can and will play that game. Our chances always looked better in 2022 and 2023 than 2021, to me, even when we had the best record in the AL. I'm going off some assumptions that may be wrong, like we will spend much more, next year, and Bloom will sign 2-4 meaningful FAs and maybe make a couple big trades. One reason I was not for going all in this year was that I knew other teams were going to go all out, too, so improving some might have just barely kept us even with our original odds of winning a ring. This was not the time to try and go bigger than what LA, SD and others did. It just wasn't.
  3. Sox make blockbuster trade! https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/07/red-sox-acquire-hansel-robles-from-twins.html
  4. I'm a bit surprised, but our chances in 2022 and beyond remain intact.
  5. Their farms got a lot stronger.
  6. One hour to go.
  7. I've suggested a few Jon Gray & Cron deals. Also, Boyd & Schoop. Thinking about Gibson and Hendricks, now.
  8. Agreed. If Bogey opts out, who plays SS in 2023?
  9. How much would Gibson cost?
  10. Oh, someone mentioned...
  11. ERod had a 3.03 ERA in his 6 starters before the last one. There is hope, there, but the other 3 are really struggling.
  12. I think 1B is the plan unless we trade Verdugo or Duran or plan to use Kike/Arroyo at 1B.
  13. If we acquire 5 guys, then maybe we DFA Cordero before Wilson.
  14. Maybe I'm wrong about some contending team wanting Richards or Perez. I've seen what some of their 5th starters look like and that Lazardo trade. If I'm wrong, just DFA Richards, Santana and Andriese to make room for a SP'er we trade for, Sale and Sawamura- not to mention Brasier. Keep Perez, if we can't add a pitcher.
  15. I defended Perez all year, and if we don't acquire a pitcher, he's on my 13 man staff over Richards, Andriese and Rios. The context for trading him was only if we add a better starter. I'm not sure Perez would work well from the pen. My thought is he'd be worth more to another team as a starter than to us as a pen arm, hence the idea trading him might be best.
  16. How many guys are we going to acquire to get past DFA'ing Andriese, Santana and Richards and maybe Rios all the way to Cordero?
  17. Not DFA'ing. I'd want to trade Perez, only if we pick up a starter via another trade. I'm done with Richards, Andriese and Santana. Call that slash and burn, but I have an army with me.
  18. The problem is, many teams will have roster issues, this winter, too, so guys like Wilson, Potts and Rosario might not e all that appealing. Not every team could fit Cordero on their roster either. I think most could fit Dalbec, but that is debatable. I really hope we make a 3 for 1 deal, with all three players leaving being 40 man roster players in 2022. I'm not sure how practical that is. I'm also done with Richards. We can pay all but a little more than min wage off his contract and give him away. Maybe throw in Potts and save more money, so we can afford Jon Gray or Kyle Hendricks. Time is running out. I won't be upset if Schwarber is all we do, but I have to think something else is in the works.
  19. Kyle Hendricks Jon Gray Carlos Santana (if the plan is to play Schwarber in LF)
  20. Richards and $1.5M for Voit.
  21. Okay, that was harsh, but you're on a slash and burn mission.
  22. You think Cordero & Plawecki have no trade value? Plawecki s doing better than Vaz, this year.
  23. Why turn ghost on us?
  24. I'd go... 1. Kike CF 2. Bogey SS 3. Devers 3B 4. JD DH 5. Scwarber 1B 6. Renfroe RF 7. Verdugo LF 8. Arroyo 2B 9. Vaz/Plawecki C Bench: Duran Plawecki Marwin Dalbec Rotation: Eovaldi Sale Jon Gray ERod Pivetta Pen Barnes Ottavino Whitlock Houck Taylor DHern Sawamura Richards and Perez traded Santana & Andriese DFA'd (Chavis, Rios, Valdez & Cordero to AAA)
  25. Even if you like them all better, why not trade the two, instead of DFA'ing them? They have trade value.
