  1. I got no Sox fans in my community. When I moved to Mexico, I forgot to bring the water cooler.
  2. I was nearing 100K posts on BDC. Rumors were they shut down the site because of Y2K type concerns with their system crashing had I reached 100,000.
  3. There is some merit in examining every Theo move after the Nomar trade in 2007 and thinking the overall grade was NOT a C+ or better.
  4. I'd guess, no, but with Little, who knows. I'm just saying I'd be a hypocrite for bashing Little in hindsight for doing something I agreed upon at the time. I'm not saying people are wrong for bashing Little, and of course hindsight is always 20-20.
  5. How many times do I have to say I'm not saying I was right? My position is that, at the time, I wanted Pedro to stay in. It wasn't an absurd position. The choice failed, and even though we don't know if the other choices would have worked, I will not be a hypocrite and criticize Little for doing something I agreed with, at the time. In hindsight the choice was wrong. Looking at all the evidence I know now, it looks calling it the wrong choice has a lot of merit, but I still think a 75% Pedro is a great pitcher. I can't say Little was wrong on that. Sorry.
  6. Can't we wait to rest Verdugo until some of the others return?
  7. Whenever he agreed with me, which was maybe twice, I always reanalyzed my position. One point he agreed with me on, which turned out to be one of the most posted thread in BDC history, was my "No Manny- No Rings" thread. Yeah, I know right? Who could disagree on the essentiality of Manny?
  8. I brought up Kike's CF and 2B numbers when we signed him, but very few agreed he should be our FT CF'er.
  9. Wow, Duran at -6 in what? 200 innings?
  10. I've talked about this issue many times before. I was no little fan, but I can't think leaving Pedro in a game can be an undebatable offense. Again, I'm not claiming I was right, but at the time of the choice, it was not a 100% clear what was the right thing to do, and if that bloop hit was a pop up, this wouldn't even be talked about. It wouldn't be on your list.
  11. LOL. It's what softy did.
  12. Totally false. It was always you who insulted me first. 100%. You think calling a position insane, dumb or silly is a personal insult. It's not.
  13. I saw that afterwards, and again, I'm not saying I was right, but I do think that point is up for debate. Pedro at 75% was better than anyone else the Sox had available. Maybe you can say he was at 64.7% at that moment, but that is something that can be further discussed. Had you said Ted Williams is the best Sox hitter of all time, I'd have said that was not up for debate, but you chose some real iffy claims, instead,
  14. He once bashed me for suggesting we move Papi down to the 6 slot during that down year. This was after he had suggested we demote him to AAA to "work on his swing."
  15. I was glad Pedro stayed in, at the time, so I'd be hypocritical to throw stones at Little on that. I'm not saying I was right. Hindsight shows I was not, but Pedro at 75% was better than anyone else, and we were beat by a bloop hit, so there is that to create a discussion.
  16. I misread the Buckner line. I agree with you, but some would debate this. Yes, nopes mean it's debatable.
  17. I never thought Mayer would drop to us. I was expecting and wishing for a college talent, but getting Mayer was nothing short of amazing. I do think it was a no-brainer, but Bloom should still get credit.
  18. I remember softlaw very well. I think I agreed with him on 2 issues over the years and years we both were on that site. He threw a lot of insults and was big on saying everyone was a Theo apologist. I guess he was right on that, since we had to continually defend Theo against his Theo-bashing. Was he the guy who also said "pink hats" and "pink glasses" all the time?
  19. I say: That makes total sense. lol You say: Douchebag _________________________ I say: No, I get your lame position very clearly. I didn't assume or mistake what you said and meant. Yes, both bear responsibility. I'm glad you saw the light. You honestly think Cora is doing or trying nothing or maybe just not doing enough? He's just "letting it happen?" Like if he spent 24/7 with these guys on D, they'd be any better? These guys suck on D. They always have. It might take years to turn them into just average. Just blame Bloom. You are much better at that. You say: You really are a dimwit. ______________________ This is who you are. It's not some rarity or once a month type of post. It's who you are.
  20. Yes, I have called people names. A lot of times, it was you. I admit that and regret it. You don't. I have never done that over someone criticizing my position on something, and as far as I know, always after being personally insulted first. You make personal insults very very often over just a criticism of a position you hold. I admit I push buttons when criticizing some positions I consider silly or outlandish. Maybe that warrants personal insults hurled my way. That doesn't take away from the fact that you are the master of hurling personal insults. That does not imply others don't do it, including myself, but you are the king.
  21. 1. I agree, but somone 150years old might say Cy Young or even the Babe. 2. Agreed, but it's not a skill. 3. Agreed, but nonSox fans would disagree. 4. I was calm with Barnes for a couple months. 5. I disagree. 6. Nope. 7. Nope. 8. You may have found #2. 9. Nope. 10. Nope.
  22. Criticizing positions are not personal insults. Calling someone a D-Bag or worse for saying your position is silly or illogical is what you have mastered.
  23. We don't have to keep discussing it, but it's something to find an issue beyond debate.
  24. Oh, I'm far from giving upon Casas, but he needs to show improvement before he gets called up, which I think he will do. How much improvement and how quickly will determine his call-up date. Devers has 2 years, after this. Moving Devers to 1B for 2022 should not e affected by the ETA of Casas.
  25. Mets claim Brad Hand. Starlin Castro released.
