Not until Arroyo plays 2B and Kike squeezes the OF, and out pops Schwarber to 1B.

Nice line-up. I can't wait to see Arroyo join the team and have one line-up with Arroyo at 2B, Schwarber at 1B and Kike in CF.

I agree, but if our oldest player is 33, next year, I don't get anyone thinking we have an old team. Even adding a Greinke or Scherzer hardly turns us into an old team. Our key players and their ages: 24 Devers 32 Sale 28 Bogey (1 yr remaining) 33 JD Martinez (1 yr remaining) 31 Eovaldi (1 yr remaining) 25 Whitlock 25 Houck 29 Kike (1 yr remaining) 29 Renfroe 31 Barnes 30 Vaz (1 yr remaining) 28 Pivetta 25 Verdugo 26 Arroyo 24 Duran 28 Taylor 26 Dalbec 33 Sawamura 30 Plawecki This looks like a middle ages, mostly prime team that after next year could look very young to prime.

After April, I had all but made my mind up that Devers should not stay at 3B. Now, I'm not so sure. How long should it take to fix a footwork/throwing problem?

If Casas isn't ready by 2022, which he very well may not be, then one can DH in 2023. If JD opts out, there is no issue.

I know. Even if they've done it 3 years in a row, it does not prove it's a repeatable Skill (or just plain "skill" for bellhorn).

As much as I hate to say it, the Rays seem to do this, every year. Does that prove it's a repeatable skill, or are they just super lucky every year.

Mayer is our best prospect, but your point is well taken. I doubt they move him, too, and he keeps teasing us by going long stretches of looking pretty good on defense at 3B- making us believe he can do it. I've sometimes thought of moving Bogey to 2B, but he's not moving anywhere, except maybe to a new team after 2022.

That could happen, as Bloom moves to put a firm stamp on this being "his club, now," but that seems rather radical. Not impossible, though. I do think Kike in CF makes the most sense. I said that the first day we signed him Renfroe in RF works well, especially, if he can stay near .800. I don't see Duran beating out Verdugo in LF in 2021. Maybe they trade one of them, but more likely, Duran is the 4th OF'er, and when Kike is needed at 2B, he plays more than most true 4th OF'ers.
