  3. See, the Jays can lose. Not every trend continues forever.
  4. I'm not sure they are all that hard. Is DFA'ing Rosario, Potts and Davis really all that difficult? (Those might be the last 3 to go.)
  5. 84-65 BOS 83-65 NYY 82-65 TOR Just keep winning.
  6. 5. Maustin Mays looks pretty good, too.
  7. Scary, but nice finish, Matt.
  8. Jays lose. Yanks win. Rays score 3 in 9th to send to extra innings. (OAK & SEA both up.)
  9. Twins up on the Jays 7-3 in the 8th.
  10. There was enough complaining over the first 3-4 months to write a book about. I've been perhaps his biggest supporter, and even I agreed he should be sent down, at one point in the season.
  11. ...and his defense. ...the hole in his swing.
  12. Iggy a Bloom gem- unexpected. (Shaw, too.)
  13. I noticed the same thing. Let's see if he can still get the job done or dial it up a notch.
  14. With 4 days off in the last 18 days, it makes sense
  15. Altuve hater. Are you for setting the strike zone based on a crouch? Altuve's would be about 10 inches top to bottom.
  16. I'm all for smaller strike zones for smaller players. I'm not for shrinking the zone for players that crouch vs standing more upright. Am I missing something?
  17. No. I said "stance." Players that crouch, should not have smaller strike zones. It should be based on height or actual measurements between 2 points of every player's bodies, as players with the same height make have different measurements between the knees and letters.
  18. It should not be based on batter stance, though.
  19. So, basically, 12 guys. That makes room for the 7 Rule 5 and 4 free agents. Sounds about right- no roster crunch.
  20. Interesting points. Maybe they measure every player and feed the dimensions into the computer, or just go with 1 set strike zone or 2-3 based on your official height.
  21. That looks about right. Let's assume we protect those 7. Here's how the 40 man might shake out before any FAs are signed. Assume we keep Vaz & Richards options, JD does not opt out and ERod receives and accepts the QO. We lose Perez (option declined), Ottavino, Santana, Robles, Shaw and Iggy. With 8 players currently on the IL and not counting towards the 40 man roster, and us having 39 listed, now, we will actually be at 41 before adding those 7. That means 8 players will have to be traded or DFA'd to make it 40, and that's before we add anyone as a free agent. Who might those 8+ players be? (I think some added for COVID do not need to be DFA'd to be kept in our system.) Michael Feliz Jack Lopez Geoff Hartlieb Yairo Munoz Borderline: Jesson Rosario Hudson Potts Austin Davis Yacksel Rios Trade? Brasier Arauz Plawecki/Hernandez/Wong (1) Cordero
  22. Yes, you guys are right. A team selecting Ward would have to keep him on the 26 man active roster, even if on the IL. It looks like a good way for us to keep him without having to rule 5 protect him, this year.
  23. I think the rectangle is useful, but we have to realize it is not perfect. Balls that are breaking, and even fastballs are falling and will hit the catcher's glove lower than where it goes over the plate. We can also see that pitches that hit the same spot are sometimes called ball and sometimes strikes.
