I'll take Sale. I'm a Sox fan. We earned the April and May wins. We've played better the last month. Counting the last 3 games like they are gold is not something I ever do. Am I worried about losing to the Yanks and Cole? Hell, yes, but I give us a 50-50 shot with Sale or Eovaldi on the mound. We have shown we can get to Cole. I'm hoping the Yanks need to use Cole vs the Rays at the nd of the season, and we can rest Sale on the last day.

We're still up one on the Jays and now down one on the Yanks. The Yanks and Jays play 3, so somebody has to lose 2-3 games. If we can sweep the O's, we are guaranteed to be up on someone. Assume a sweep of the O's: Yanks sweep, we are up 4 on the Jays and still down 1 to NY. Yanks win 2, we are up 3 on the Jays and tied with the Yanks Yanks win 1, we are up 2 on the Jays and one on the Yanks. Yanks win 0, we are up 1 on the Jays and 2 on the Yanks. If we just win 2 of 3 vs the O's... Yanks sweep, we are up 3 on the Jays and down 2 on the Yanks. Yanks win 2, we are up 2 on the Jays and down 1 with the Yanks Yanks win 1, we are up 1 on the Jays and tied with the Yanks. Yanks win 0, we are tied the Jays and up 1 on the Yanks. The worst we can be is up 1 in the WC2 race. God forbid, we win just 1 out of 3 vs the O's... Yanks sweep, we are up 2 on the Jays and down 3 on the Yanks. No doubt. I'd take him over Verdugo, Renfroe and Duran combined. If the money and years of team control were even, I'd take him over Bogey, too. I'm not sure about Devers, as I see Devers still improving.

One could say you are nit picking. Why are the last 12 more important than the first 6? If most recent records are what we judge teams by, what about this? The Yanks are 13-15 in their last 28 games. The Sox are 16-12 in their last 28 games. Apparently, we should be 3 up on the Yanks, because early games shouldn't count, or is it nit picking to count the whole season?

He's 18th in fWAR and behind Bogey and slightly ahead of Devers. He's a great player, no doubt, but his D has slipped the past couple years, and it's not a clear choice. Not saying you are wrong, but it's not a clear choice.

We are 10-9 vs the Yanks. I guess that does not mean anything. We are 10-9 vs the Jays. The Yanks are 6-10 vs the jays with 3 to play. Let's talk after the NYY-TOR series.

We'll see. We are done with the Jays. The Yanks are not. Depending on who loses, we'll deserve it more than the loser, right? Won't that answer the question? Now, if we can't beat the O's and Nats, then you will be right.

Again, look at the Yanks and Jays rosters and short-comings. Why do they "deserve" it? We've played a tougher schedule than the Yanks, up to now.

Well, we are top3 out of 30, so that comes to 9.0, at worst. Our defense sucks. we really should be o.o or 0,5.

Of course, it all ends on a hard hit out.

I agree with everything you said, here, but I can't see why the blame goes all on Cora for making a call that has some merit.

We have been a comedy of errors all year. The amazing thing is how many botched plays we have made without being called an error.

Our best thing going for us is that either the Yanks or Jays will lose 2-3 games out of their next 3. If we can just sweep the O's, we'll gain 2 or more on one of them.

The fix is in. Baseball needs a NY team in the POs.
