  1. ...and the Twins tied the Rays.
  2. Just as the O's tied the Yanks!
  3. Come on, man! Picked off??????
  4. Seems like somethings are starting to turn our way. Time to turn the lead our way.
  5. Verdugo scored on the 2B. He was walked before Plawecki's hit. Plawecki was held at 3rd and did not score on the 2B.
  6. Word of JD's demise has been highly exaggerated.
  7. You had to go there? The can is now opened. I'm outta here. Go Sox!
  8. They are the best of what we have in the minors, except for maybe Seabold. I'm not sure I'd jump Bello. Seabold will get a look, and if he fails, then nobody can cast blame on Bloom for calling up the wrong guys. (Of course, he'll be blamed for acquiring these guys, in the first place- forgetting what he started with. Hey, let's bring back Kickham & Leyer.)
  9. It should not be political, but like everything, these days, it is.
  10. I guess our farm was not ready to help us, right now.
  11. Umm, let's not get political, but these guys were not wearing masks. That is NOT "following protocol."
  12. The best part is, he's had no pro-longed slumps since the break. Our best OPS since the break: 1.067 Schwarber .970 Arroyo (12 PAs) .963 Shaw (20) .937 Kike .935 Dalbec .903 Santana (13) .878 Renfroe .862 Plawecki .853 Devers .827 Verdugo .724 JD .721 Bogey .660 Vaz .604 Arauz (50) .578 Duran .382 Lopez (13) .182 Munoz (11)
  13. It's not about Pivetta getting COVID. We went with a 6th starter, when we used Peacock. My point is, and I don't think I made myself all that clear, was that had we used Seabold not Peacock, when we eventually went back to 5 starters, we'd have slid Seabold into Pivetta's slot (not today, of course.)
  14. I think we score more than 3, but can we stop the bleeding?
  15. He's the type of kid you and others have been screaming for in the name of "they can't be any worse...."
  16. I know that, but had he been called up for Peacock, he'd be slotted in the rotation for both of them. Once we start getting all these days off we have in September, we won't be going with 6 starters. Seabold would have taken Peacock's place and eventually Pivetta's (not today's had he started instead of Peacock) slot.
  17. BAL up 1-0 on NYY and TOR up 3-0 on OAK. TOR and SEA now look like bigger threats than OAK. I expected OAK to struggle as their schedule got harder, but they are in freefall.
  18. How long do we stick with Crawford? This game is still winnable.
  19. These hard outs are killing us.
  20. Ummm, where Peacock and Crawford were slotted.
  21. We have enough budget space to sign a long term FA and eventually extend Devers while re-setting in 2023 or 2024. We have a few big roles to fill, this winter, but maybe only 3 rather large signings or acquisitions are needed. That should be able to be sustained in future budgets. Yes, we lose Eovaldi after 2022, but we won't be missing Price. Replacing JD at his money should not be very difficult, but if we swing and miss, it could be really bad. We'll need guys like Dalbec, Arroyo, Renfroe, Verdguo, Whitlock and Houck to play big roles at relatively low costs. If we don't extend Devers, his cost will be less, via arbs, than the cost of a FA to give us what he gives.
  22. There seems to be some great reluctance to bringing Seabold up. I'd like to hear them answer why he hasn't been called up, yet.
