  1. It sure is, but I see him busting out, next year. This guys is great.
  2. Mookie got much more than $28M x 8, which is the max I think Bogey could get.
  3. Good to see they have Mayer #1. I'd go... 1. Mayer 2. Casas 3. Yorke 4. Bello 5. Duran 6. Jordan 7. Downs 8. Winckowski 9. Seabold 10. Groome
  4. In hindsight, yes, but even, now, it's a close call. I think I'd rather have had Maeda than Wong & Downs, but certainly that could prove to be the wrong answer. (Nothing against Downs or Wong; I just like pitching more.)
  5. I just pointed out that we pretty much know one pitcher we could have gotten, since he was traded for Graterol. It's a close call, but at the time, I wanted Maeda and his very team-friendly contract. I'd probably still say yes.
  6. Too many judge players on small sample sizes.
  7. He's going to look for $30M x 10 and maybe settle for $28M x 8.
  8. True, but two points to add: 1. Maeda pitched in relief quite a bit some of those years. 2. I might rather have Maeda at the low cost he signed for than Wong and Downs.
  9. Well, we know almost certainly we could have gotten Kenta Maeda.
  10. According to BTV, we could get Montas and Trivino for Duran and one of Downs or Dalbec but maybe we’d need to give up Duran, Dalbec and Groome.
  11. Depends what GMs think of him and some others. We could trade Duran, Dalbec and Downs and go 3-D.
  12. That's my motto, but I think we will need to trade for one or two pitchers.
  13. I'm not for signing Schwarber... https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/mlb-rumors-latest-kyle-schwarbers-market-free-agency?cid=sm_npd_rsn_bos_fb_mn&fbclid=IwAR0WjeEJGBtcaw4leWuN-TKlRu4eATPkgqBd13o0oprMirH96sBqv30KJ9s
  14. My dream signing.
  15. Okay, but signing Baez to $100M/5 is not a blueprint of last winter, either. (Not that we will.)
  16. Yes, but the Dodgers wanted him, too- not just AGon. notin swears it was Punto that made the deal possible.
  17. 21. I do not want us signing Schwarber.
  18. Story rejects QO. Syndergaard to get $21M/1 from Angels.
  19. Also, Beckett was a big part of the Crawford trade.
  20. Trading him was to free up $7M and improve the D, and I only mentioned it as a way to get close to the same $40M winter spending budget we had last winter. Then, the "blueprint" could be nearly identical, except we'll sign 3-4 players not 8-10. I did not say we'd sign Schwarber: I said we can. It's obvious Bloom likes him. For the 20th time: I do NOT want to sign Schwarber.
  21. They may try and get Bogey and extend him, but I agree.
  22. Okay. I figured you'd think $77-80M/5 was big. Would Baez at $100M/5 be big?
  23. We may trade Renfroe and sign Schwarber. Maybe they try to move Dalbec to LF, when Casas is ready.
  24. Okay, the question marks confused me. Personally, I'd have paid ERod more, so I do think it is team-friendly. He could have gotten $18.4M/1 and may opt out after getting just $28M/2. That's essentially $18.4M + $9.6M for year 2. If he stays for 5, he basically got $$59M/4 over the last 4 years of his deal. He's not old.
