  1. How's this accepted trade? Duran & Jordan for Manaea, Pache & Trivino
  2. I doubt the A's do that, but I would. Why not try and pry a young catcher from their grasp? Vaz is a FA, next winter.
  3. Speaking of Suzuki, one report says these teams are still in the race: Padres, Dodgers, Red Sox, Giants, Mariners, and Cubs. He's meeting with the Cubs, tonight. The Astros are said to be back in the Correa race, as the owner pushed the GM to try again.
  4. I guess he couldn't wait until after Suzuki signed and hope someone "settles" on him, afterwards.
  5. Or, they could trade Soderstram and still have a decent young catcher behind Murphy.
  6. They also have a great catcher and two of the best catching prospects in MLB. Two things the Sox need. BTV Values: C 65.8 Murphy 45.2 Soderstrom 27.8 Shea Langeliers SP 39.6 Montas 14.1 Manaea RP 1.1 Trivino Sox 62.9 Casas 45.2 Yorke 20.2 Duran 16.2 Dalbec 10.3 Bello 9.1 Jordan 8.2 Downs 7.2 Gonzalez 6.0 Lugo Would you give Casas & Gonzalez (or Downs) for Montas, Langeliers & Trivino?
  7. Did they promise both would be starters? (BTW, only Wacha needs to be sent to the pen- something he's done, already. I'm not sure a starter position was promised to him. Areyou?) Bloom said this after the signing of Hill: “We talked about adding starters. We talked about adding to our bullpen and everywhere in between. Rich can do a lot of those different things,” said Bloom. Sounds like his use in the pen was in the mix, when we signed Hill. There's a good chance someone is on the IL for much of 2022, anyway.
  8. Looks like a good deal for the M's. Did any cash go to a team? I hear a significant PTBNL is involved.
  9. I seriously doubt he does, but there are a few scenarios... 1) Move Wacha or Hill to the pen. 2) Assume someone will be on the IL 3) Trade Pivetta while his stock is high---a la Renfroe Again, I don't see it happening, but I'm always thinking about upgrading the rotation.
  10. BTV accepted this trade: would you? Casas and Bello for Soderstrom, Manaea & Trivino I'm not sure, if it would accept Casas for Langeliers, Manaea & Trivino
  11. Until game 2, when Arroyo goes to the IL.
  12. Lightening does strike twice, sometimes.
  13. Their biggest return, by far, was a catcher- a position they are already deeper than anywhere else. Could the Sox trade Casas (and another player) for a young catcher of the future and Manea? (Maybe get Trivino thrown in?)
  14. I'm far from panic. Why claim people are in panic? I feel about the same this year as last, and it worked out pretty well. My point is that to me, the rotation is our weakest area. Weakest NOT weak.
  15. Would the Beni trade beat the Marwin DFA out?
  16. Yes, how quickly I forgot. That's got to be the one.
  17. I'm think the odds favor neither, with just one a distant second. Both, a near impossibility.
  18. What has been the most exciting, at the time of the deal? Kike? Richards? Extending Barnes? Yikes!
  19. Eovaldi has been remarkably healthy since joining the rotation mid Aug 2019 after being on the IL for much of that season and coming back in the pen for a while, first.
  20. Terrible? AAA 54 IP 4.00 ERA 1.14 WHIP .667 OPS Against Did you mean he sucked in the Fall League?
  21. Talks must still be ongoing with someone(s).
  22. Sounds like last year's 1/2 season from Perez or Richards and 1/2 from Sale.
  23. True, but ERod had zero in 2020. But, still... 2019-2021 IP totals: 256 Hill (119 ERA+) 361 ERod (114)
  24. I figured he'd be one of the first to sign. I know he has a time limit expiring, soon.
  25. I doubt we are done adding to our 40 man roster, but is the the bottom 10 on the current 40 man better than last year's pre-opening day 40 man roster (before players can be placed on the 60-day IL). 2022: 40. Potts 39. Rosario 38. Bazardo 37. A Davis (out of options) 36. Arauz 35. Valdez 34. Crawford 33. Downs 32. Sawamura 31. Plawecki/Wong/R Hernandez 2021 We had Cordero, Brice, Andriese and Marwin on the 26 man roster to open 2021. I'm not sure of who we had on the 40 man, last March. With all the taxi squad crap, it was hard to keep track.
