  1. You did when he was the active GM. (lol)
  2. Cots has the Pirates with no guaranteed contracts above min wage, right now. They have 11 arbs with the highest estimate being about $4.3M for Reynolds. (He may be traded, this winter.) They have 3 players who are on their last arbs (Kuhl $3.1M est, Gamel $2.5, and Shreve $2.5M) OAK will likely try to dump Andrus and his $15M deal. (Maybe the Sox could trade Bogey somewhere else for a pitcher, then take on Andrus, so we could gte Montas and Trivino for much cheaper returns. Piscotty makes $7.25M in 2022 with an option for 2023. They have 10 arbs with Olsen, Chapman and Manaea making close to $10M est. Bassit $8.5 Montas $5.3 (one more arb for '23) Laureano & Pinder $3M Trivon $2.8M Kemp $2.5
  3. They should have moved decades ago. How long will they wait this out?
  4. Indeed. This is the way baseball is. I just don't understand why they don't move to Sacramento.
  5. Nobody was even bashing DD.
  6. Okay- third or 4th highest. Still, in context, having your closer be a top 4 salary is a bit strange. right?
  7. He'd be the highest paid player.
  8. I did not say over-paid. I said costly. I never said anything of a problem. I'm not sure why you added names that are not DD's, either. The point was DD's players have a large share of the budget. They do. It's not a problem, IMO, except for Price. (One could say most of the "dead money" is DD's.)
  9. It doesn't make sense to me, either. Maybe they get rid of many of those names plus Trivino. Maybe they think Olsen brings fans in, but Trivino will not. BTW, Montas is due a nice arb raise. That's the guy I want. He has 2 years of control- not 1 like Bassit and Manaea.
  10. They are looking to cut salary. It does seem like Trivino's is no a whole lot, but their tradition is to keep finding min wage closers.
  11. Dead or not, other DD players are costly. Some drop off the rolls after 2022.
  12. There aren't many non crapshoot RP'ers. SP'ers seem like less crapshoots, and 4-6 innings is more than most RP'er give.
  13. He has better numbers than Eovaldi did.
  14. It's going to be 60% Bloom's team by opening day.
  15. The same line-up includes Schwarber.
  16. November 20th is the Rule 5 date for protecting players from the draft in December. 17. I thought you'd like that, but the sample period was the one you mentioned (post trades).

  22. What are your thoughts on Hicks? He just turned 32. Was his injury career-threatening? I hate to praise Yankee players: you do that enough for us all, but the guy had an .819 OPS from 2017-2020 and seemed okay on D.
  23. Sometimes I stumble upon something.
  24. I'm thinking he deserves at least what Eovaldi got ($17M x 4).
  25. I really like Schwarber. His bat. His attitude. But, I agree. He does not improve the defense, and he does not fill our biggest not-pitching needs: 1. Defense 2. 2B (unless we move Kike to 2B and Verdugo to CF- further weakening our OF defense) 3. Catcher I'd be happy, if we just sign Iggy or the like and spend the rest on pitching upgraes. I think the following winter will be focused on improving defense as Vaz and Bogey are free and Devers may be moved to 1B, if he doesn't show improvement in 2022.
