  1. Are you counting a reach on error?
  2. .771 OPS is not all that bad.
  3. Has anyone entered a game (early enough) as a PR, then got on base all the other ways?
  4. Don't look now, but Franchy is 4 for his last 18! (LOL) Kike got over .500. Story is nearing .600, Pivetta 10.03 first 3 starts. Pivetta 2.45 last 4 starts. Can we put 2 W's together?
  5. The Woo Sox are now 15-19 after tonight's loss. DHern went 3 ip with just 1 BB! MIRACLE! (3H oER 3K). Valdez went 2 IP 0H, 2BB, 4K. Duran (.984) and Sanchez(.917) both had 2 hits including a double. Sanchez had a dinger, too. Fitzy went 1-3 w a BB and is at .959. The Sea Dogs lost and are 14-17. Murphy went 2 IP, 1 H, o ER, oBB, 4K German is back, sort of: 0.2, 2H, 3ER, 2BB, 1K Koss, Cottam & Sogard with 2 hits each. Larry gives the tater reports. Greenville is losing, again, but it's 8-7. Yorke has 2 hits. Salem won to get to .500 (15-15). Paulino 2-4 w BB, 2B & 3B, Bonaci 2-3 w 2BB, Jordan 2-5, Kavadas 1-4 w BB
  6. Kike pushing the .500 OPS mark after those 2 walks!
  7. I'm not sure why so many people seem to think we are 3-5 years away from having a chance, and I was the one crying "cliff" 3 years ago.
  8. I'm not against re-signing Eovaldi. I just listed some of the more notable FAs.
  9. 30 Syndergaard 30 Rodon (may opt out if he reaches 110 IP) 31 Manaea 31 Wacha 33 Eovaldi 34 Bassitt 35 deGrom
  10. At $20-21M or closer to $24-25M?
  11. I don't think the stretch will be too long, but please don't let the Yanks win before the next one.
  12. Losing Taylor hurts. Best Sox RP'ers by WAR 2019-2021 2.4 Barnes 2.1 Workman 1.7 Taylor 1.6 Whitlock 0.7 Brasier
  13. Team top 2021 OPS teams' drop from 2021>2022: (Red= improved) .797> .691 TOR -106 .783> .697 HOU -86 .777> .630 BOS -147 .769> .709 SFG -60 .759> .644 CIN -115 .759> .720 LAD -39 .758> .638 CWS -120 .754> .695 ATL -59 .754> .685 WSN -69 .717> .751 LAA +35 .750> .686 TBR -66 .729> .742 NYY +13 .738> .690 MN -48
  14. Indeed, even Lester, the much talked about ex-Sox player was past his peak. Some were not "homegrown" like Beltre & Damon. Many bitched about Ellsbury, especially when he chose the Yanks. Ellsbury was no Betts, but the strategy is not new. That was my point.
  15. Yes, my bad. I was looking through the rosters up to the time of Mookie's departure. I should not have listed him. Still, the lists shows a strategy that has been in place for a while, and long before Mookie and Bogey. The Sox are not afraid to part with their biggest named players, and many times, it turned out well, and or we won a ring afterwards. The post Mookie era is TBD.
  16. My point was we reached "the point" you talked about log before Betts- no need to mention him, since that was my point.
  17. I just named a few guys we did not want to pay. (Granted, some are dubious, but we clearly let a lot of top talent walk away or we pushed them away. I meant Beltre not Beltran.
  18. A "feeling" does not mean a fact. Neither of us know what Devers feels about playing somewhere else at the same money scenario I implied.
  19. We have not just arrived at this "point." We lost... Mueller DLowe Pedro Damon Manny (not all about the money with him) Beltran Papelbon Beckett & AGon (to shed CC's money) Ellsbury (Thank God!) Lester, Lackey & Andrew Miller Kimbrel, Porcello, Price ERod Somehow, we've kept on winning with this strategy.
  20. In Texas, Mask wearing had no meaning.
  21. I don't recall an uproar over "No Shoes: No Service." Man, having no shoes is very dangerous to us all!
  22. I hear you, but I'm glad we let some of our big stars go when we did, in the past. Personally, I think it all has something to do with Bogey's SS D, and his desire to not change positions.
