  1. He seems like the logical choice, but to me, Walter seems better.
  2. It's the PED-laced drinking fountain in the clubhouse- I swear it!
  3. The only relevant question, now, is did you scratch your head?
  4. soxprospects.com made some recent adjustments. Here are the biggest risers: Lugo 29>24 German 35>30 Murphy 15>11 Rafaela 19>15 Walter 9>6 Binelas 21>18 Gonzalez 11>9 Bello 5>4 Biggest drops: Groome 6>10 Jordan 10>14 Downs 13>16 McDonough 17>20 Paulino 23>26 Bonaci 25>27 Duran 4>5 Seabold 13>14
  5. My others might be Wikelman Gonzalez, Brayan Bello, Miguel Bleis or Ceddanne Rafaela.
  6. You must be a rocket scientist!
  7. Don't go changing the question on him. He, alone, gets to do that.
  8. Maybe JBJ + Binelas & Hamilton for a bag of balls?
  9. Cordero could be sent down not DFA'd. JBJ can be a defensive replacement.
  10. So, you like Seabold, now?
  11. So, DFA/trade Arroyo?
  12. That's too easy to say. I doubt it works out that easily. Plus, Iggy got a 4 year deal. that changes the dynamic.
  13. True, but I still think Henry started out by giving Ben a wide window to rebuild, but the 3 last place finishes were just too much for him to accept.
  14. Me, too, but assuming the budget is somewhat fixed, who do we give up to match the $14.5M x 5 Iggy got? JBJ seems like the obvious choice. Wacha 7, Hill 5 comes close, too.
  15. It has to be part of it. That being said, even if you adjust to park factors, we have some very low OPS players on the team, right now, and some promising farm hands that can maybe provide a spark or light a fire under some of our vets.
  16. Indeed. I had thought Henry had given Ben a 5 year window, but he pulled the plus before the time was up. He may repeat this impatience with Bloom, too, but I get the feeling Henry is on board with a longer rebuild time frame. If 2021 had not happened, it might have been easier for Bloom to totally remake the Sox. Doing very poorly, this season, may give him the opening to do just that.
  17. Where does Sanchez play? Do they bench Story or Devers? I think calling Fitzy and maybe Duran up, first is most likely. I think they wait on Casas to gain the extra year of service time. It looks like the plan is all about 2023 and 2024, anyway.
  18. Yes, but they also shrivel up like "frightened turtles" when things go badly.
  19. I think Henry sticks with Bloom for longer than he did with Ben. Depending on how much he allows him to spend this coming winter, I think he'll have to the end of 2023, at the earliest. I guess, if he spends like a maniac, this winter, then they tank in 2023, he might be gone mid season, but I doubt it.
  20. I'm pretty sure the $8M option buy out counted towards the first 2 years of his deal, and only $4M will count on the lux tax for 2023. They don't double count that $8M buy out.
  21. Agreed, but Duran did hit as well as Casas in AAA: .898 Duran (342 PAs) .882 Casas (145 PAs)
  22. Some Woo OPS to think about: 1.403 Mieses (6K/4BB) 1.177 Refsnyder (9K/11BB) 1.036 Fitzy (27K/7BB) 1.018 Sanchez (15K/17BB) .913 Franchy (23K/10BB) .888 Casas (23K/17BB) How long until these guys move up a level? .858 Hamilton POR (17K/10BB) 1.024 Binelas GRE (7HRs) .948 Rafaela GRE (6 HRs) .919 Northcut GRE (8 HRs) .886 Lugo GRE (12K/3BB) .958 Kavadas SAL (25K/19BB)
