  1. I kept thinking maybe Bobby Dee is a warm weather hitter. It looks like that was just wishful thinking. I've not given up on him, yet, but 2 years in a row with these long and slow starts can not be tolerated.
  2. The "flash" part of the question was not addressed. Homie was very good, last year, too.
  3. You highlighted all the bad. Here is some good. 2022 57.2 IP 75 K 7 BB .585 OPS Against 0.90 WHIP The 11:1 K:BB ratio is astoundingly great. BTV has him valued at 4.9, which is pretty close to Bell's 5.6. We did get Schwarber for Aldo Ramirez. I think you over value Bell. I may be over valuing Walter.
  4. How long must Schreiber do well, before he's not viewed as some "flash?"
  5. I would not give Walter for Bell. Maybe Downs or Groome & Jimenez?
  6. Don't look, now, but with the 2 hits by Downs, he's now at a whopping .761! Potts had 3 hits for POR, while Van Belle went 6 IP w 1 ER (0BB-6Ks) GRE lost, but Drohan did okay: 5IP 5H 2ER 1BB 8K. Hickey w 2 Hits and 4 rbi. Mayer went 1 for 3 w 2 BB & a SB (11th) in a Salem loss.
  7. Playing the Rays, you better not be looking ahead.
  8. As weird as it sounds, once nearly everybody is healthy, we will have a surplus of pitchers with no options remaining. We may DFA some (Robles) or trade a few others for scraps to make room for higher level RP’ers we acquire in other trades. I think we go bigger than last year’s Robles & Davis deals.
  9. We probably don’t need to part with Murphy, German, Wink, Seabold or Crawford to get quality pen & 1B help.
  10. We are basically winning with our top 3 hitters slumping all at the same time.
  11. We are basically winning without our best 5 out of our best 6-7 starters! Nate Sale Wacha Hill Paxton
  12. I'm sure they do, but if they knew they were giving Pivetta an extra day's rest, they could have timed Bello better.
  13. BTV only deals in the virtual.
  14. Did you want Bello? Does Crawford deserve another look?

  16. From now until August 3rd, the day after the deadline, we will be tested and re-tested over and over. We should know a lot more about the make-up of this team by then, but even if we don't shine, just sticking around might be enough to allow us to sneak into the wild card slots. 3 v TBR 4 v NYY 4 @ TBR 3 @ NYY (All-Star Break) 3 v TOR 4 v CLE 3 v MIL 3 @ HOU That's some 27 game stretch. 17 Home 10 Away (No days off, except for the 4 day All-Star Break.)

  18. I found this on Wiki Without Mother Goose, [Old Red] runs the risk of being forever a babe in the woods, deprived of the touchstones that help to form the habit of knowledge. Without these indispensable [posts]Old Red] may never acquire appropriate appetite or aptitude for works that plumb the depths of reality.
  19. The Mongoose is one of the very few animals that hunts and kills Cobras.
  20. Well, the Rays have lost 3 of 4 to the A's and 2 of 3 to BAL, twice. The Jays have no losing series vs bad teams. CLE got swept 4-0 @LAA and 2-0 v CIN. They also lost 2 of 3 @DET and were swept by the lowly Red Sox, too.
  21. They had an article there saying he was virtually untradeable.
