  1. Never heard so much whining and bitching by the Yanks. Sev complains about an HR that would be an HR in 25 parks and we hear bitching about Judge's ball not being a HR, despite it not being hit far enought o be an HR in 28 parks. They actually complained about the roof being open. Wah-wah-wah. How about facing the fact that no team has ever K'd 12 or more times in 3 straight playoff games. (30 times in the last 2 games.) You guys are built on an all or nothing batting philosophy that more often that not produces nothing.
  2. If you go by the best 2-3 year stretch, it's hard to beat this: .292 69 303 (142 XBHs, 238 Runs) .376 OBP/ .525 SLG/ .901 OPS 3 year: .285 98 440 (204 XBH, 352 Runs) .367/.507/.874 Nomar had the better BA and OPS, but never matched those HRs and RBIs by Vern Stephens. 1999-2000 .365 48 200 (148 XBHs, 207 Runs) .426/.601/.1.028 '98-'00 .350 83 322 (228 XBHs, 318 Runs) .404/.585/.999
  3. They have given the GG to players who play way less than the min. They gave the award to a player who played 28 games at 1B back in 1999- the rest at DH. If you go by that, I could have expanded the rankings to 60 or 90 SSs.
  4. Today's SP awards: Rookie of the Year: Luis Perales Comeback Player of the Year: Brian Mata Breakout Player of the Year: Ceddanne Rafaela
  5. Only 12 qualified on that list. He is 6th out of 12 in DRS. If you increase the sample size to 15 (one for each AL Team), Bogey placed: 5th in UZR/150 7th in DRS By far, his best season, but not top 3.
  6. Being a "caddy" does not mean taking anyone's starting role.
  7. Hosmer can take over that role.
  8. BTV is not always right. There is a reason you would trade Hosmer for Winker. Despite his trouble with the team, I think he's worth way more than Hosmer. I'd be happy, if we got him for Hosmer & E Valdez. I'd even throw in Seabold.
  9. Pretty good= GG? Was he really top 3? He's 8th in UZR/150 at 4.7 DRS has never been his friend, but he was a +4, this year. Thatw as 14th and 10 runs below the top 3. Don't get me wrong: I was thrilled to see him have his best defensive year, ever, but I don't see him as being top 3.
  10. If Casas plays near FT at 1B, are the rest of these guys good enough to keep us respectable at DH?
  11. It really is true: no Red Sox player is wanted by the Mariners. You guys are better at each and every position.
  12. To me, the GG votes have been the most absurd of all. It's mostly a popularity contest.
  13. I'd still rather just sign a cheap SS with a great glove as a bridge to Mayer and keep Kike in CF. I'm fine with trading Hosmer, but it's hard to know which team might have interest. He's not very good on D and looks like a platoon at bat, but at least he's on the bigger side of a platoon,
  14. It wouldn't be as bad as Jeter winning not one, not two, not three, but 4 Gold Gloves.
  15. I figured they moved him with the promotion to AA, to keep Koss at SS.
  16. I really like Kike in CF, but maybe Kiermaier in CF is better than the declining Iggy or Simmons at SS for cheap.
  17. I heard it was the biggest strike out disparity in history. 17 Ks NYY batters 2 Ks HOU batters
  18. You guys are killing me!
  19. Sometimes, just sometimes, managers do know more than we do.
  20. Agreed. He's very likely worth $320M/8, so going $320M/10 helps on the tax line for 8 years. I seriously doubt the Sox make a strong play for Judge, but it would be a major coup and set the Yanks scrambling to counterstrike. We do need a RF'er, badly. If we go lighter at SS, maybe Swanson or even a cheap bridge to Mayer, Iggy (maybe Lugo in 2024), we can afford to splurge. Someone, wake me up!
  21. .800 from 2018 is pretty good, and I'd rather have a r trending upwards than the other way. I'm not totally sold on Ref, but I do think he has earned a spot of the 26 as our 4th OF'er and possible platoon RF'er or DH. It would not upset me, if he starts the year in AAA, either, but I think we need to target our spending on 5-6 key slots and not spread the money around on mediocrity.
  22. The opposite of Rizzo.
  23. 6 or 7 quality additions or bring backs should be all that is needed, as long as we don't botch more than 1 of them. If we don't bring Bogey back, we'll need to upgrade at 1 or more positions by more and more, but that, too, is doable. I'm not sure management is prepared to trade a top prospect or two to try and fill one major need area, but I think we may have to do so, unless we spend more than I'm thinking they want to do. I do think we can field a competitive team without a major prospect trade and staying slightly under the tax line, but it's a fine needle to thread.
  24. I honestly don't know. Tito had a lot more information than we did. I don't just assume Bieber was ready to go.
  25. 2021-2022 v LHPs .901 Refsnyder (137 PAs) 2020-2022 .867 Refsynder (158 PAs) 2018-2020 .800 Refsnyder (220 PAs)
