  1. I suggested several trades that BTV accepted, many had poor grades indicated by Sox fans that show I was perhaps offering too much. Most of the BTV trades I suggest have us giving greater BTV value in return.
  2. Tighten, not keep the same. There is no reason to think our budget won't be the same or larger as the tax line increases, next year. I doubt it will be "an out." BTW, I did not use it last winter, and went out of my way to say his spending budget made last winter his "defining moment," "legacy year," and "make or break winter." I still believe that, but I do not think JH is making this year a "show major progress or be fired" season. My position has been clear and consistent.
  3. ...and you still think Boone, too- right?
  4. If rumors are true... UH-OH!
  5. Dead horse.
  6. Ok, sub in Jordan, EValdez, Walter or some other non top prospect.
  7. On SP's projected 2024 rosters, they have Mayer, Hickey & Wikelman starting the season in AA. Which one has the best chance to start in AAA or be promoted first?
  8. That did look great, at the time, and judging that one in hindsight and this one in foresight seems wrong, but I would not be surprised to see this one do better. Good pull, indeed.
  9. Maybe not "big," but I do.
  10. If we end up on the outside looking in, we will only have ourselves to blame for going 0-9 vs PIT, STL and MIA- three teams that are under .500 by 12 games, combined. Other contenders vs those 3 teams: 6-3 TOR 6-3 SEA 4-2 HOU Has we just gone 4-5 vs these 3 teams, we'd be ... +3.5 on SEA +2 on TOR -0.5 HOU -3.0 TBR I'm sure any of the contending teams could pick 3 other teams to flip it right back on us, but those 9 games hurt.
  11. No GM would find that task easy. My guess is, we keep Houck and Crawford as SP'ers and sign one. Our best hope might be to sign 2. As of now, I hope it's Urias and Y.Y.
  12. 15. Turner is DA MAN! This is not a fluke, either.
  16. For years it mattered more than the Sox not making it.
  17. Glad you lost the "suspect" label. Abreu is a better fielder than Bobby Dee. 2023 Ks: 124 Bobby Dee 72 Wilyer Abreu RF is not the hitting position 1B needs to be.
  18. Thanks for doing the homework, I was too lazy to do myself. So, perhaps the best in 9-10 years. Maybe someday, we can say even longer. That April 2014 SP top 10 had: Betts, Bogey, JBJ Barnes, Workman Owens, Swihart, Ranaudo, Cecchini, Webster (Notable 10-20: Devers, Vaz, Margot) By SEP 2014, graduations mad eit this list: Devers, ERod, Margot Barnes Swihart, Owens, Johnson, Chavis, Ranaudo, Cecchini Notable 11-20: Kopech, TShaw)
  19. Jacko and other Yankee fans would be roasting Bloom, if he had a record like that.
  20. We lost 3 pen games from July 30th onwards. I'm pretty sure had we traded for 1 pitcher, he'd have had 2-3 starts, and we'd have 2-3 less pen games, depending on who we traded for and when. Minimum 2 games.

  24. Agreed, just don't go to piggy-backing!
  25. Damn! Canzone homered with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth to tie BAL 3-3!
