lol..i know. just getting in early for the "i told you so's". listen, i get it. i expect him to pitch better than he did last night. and i really wont judge until 5 starts minimum. in reality, this trade cannot be judged until 4 years from now when we know what we got from Pom and we see what Espi is doing. hopefully he rebounds from this and dominates in his next start.

For me it comes down to zero tolerance. If you sign/ trade for / pay a single ped user that shows other players (and even worse kids) that there is huge monetary rewards for being a cheater and for taking shortcuts. It also prevents a kid who has trained the "right" way from getting on a big league roster because it is occupied by a cheater. JMO -

Agreed. It would def cause many a sox fan to have gnawed fingernails. It made more sense to try second half last year when we were already cooked than to try it now when we are in playoff contention. Right now picking up Ziegler may have been the best move by DD yet.....

He has done nothing at the mlb level this season to disprove your statement. My hope was/is that he could be dynamic for 1 inning.

Understand completely. The thought for me was that he does indeed have electric stuff and if just being used for 1 inning maybe a couple MPH could be added to that mid 90's FB. Much of it was discussed middle of last season when he struggled as a SP and koji also was. Hotstove Thought it might be a better option than having him as a starter and we were coming of a season in which koji looked human and needed a lesser role. Once we traded for kimbrell it didn't make sense to have Kelly try.

I don't believe any of the leaked stuff by the sox FO when it comes to a player they are trying to get gone. And they tried getting rid of the $20MM every year. Thankfully for us fans they didn't succeed until 2008.

Manny never wanted to play anywhere but Boston until 2008. 2005 the sox held him out of the lineup because they were trying to trade him. When the deadline passed he ph and got the game winning knock.
