    without a doubt. unless he has fragile knees. did we ever find out exactly why he has missed the past few games? am i the only one worried about a 23 year old having "sore" knee(s)?

    Depends on betts knee. He's only 23 but if he has knees of a 40 year old he won't last in this league for long and I would trade him for Sale. If it's just an odd injury with no lasting repercussions there is no way on earth I trade him.....

    Sorry HFX. Pom is our #3 starter. Price is our #4 at best. Like I posted a week or so ago.....price will pitch out of the pen IF we make the playoffs. Or at least he deserves to......

    Adjust to WHAT? He's pitched his entire career in the AL and almost all of it pitching in the AL east. He has "adjusted" just fine to two other teams he was traded to. I must admit...The excuses are starting to get lame. At least after the first few starts the excuse makers could jump up and down about BABIP and k's. I guess now we have moved on to "adjustment" and 2 other pitchers had sh!tty first seasons with the sox (neither of who was signed to a 7 year/$31mm per free agent contract to get here)... Can't make this stuff up.....

    i've watched just about every Sox inning and both of your statements are valid. the first one (to my memory) has not cost us as he always makes the play. as you pointed out the play sometimes looks harder or more awkward than necessary. but he seems to be getting better at it as the season progresses. which makes sense. your second point has probably cost us a couple double plays. his footwork on throws to 2b is terrible. something he can definitely work on and probably is?

    i actually like this team more than the 13 club. anyone see the new NESN commercial with the OFers coming up with the dance? so funny/good.

    the '13 team won 97 games (pythagorean was 100 wins). it will be hard for us to equal that. especially with a couple of West Coast trips still on the schedule. we should surpass the 853 RS but it looks like we will also surpass the 656 RA. Our avg age is 1 year younger so that bodes well for the future. obviously hoping for a deep run in the Postseason. Can we win it all? i believe we can.

    i think in the Manny thread you may have been the one to dismiss bill simmons? i dont read all of his stuff but that Manny Ramirez article is exactly how i feel about Manny.
