  1. also...lets throw out any IP that price gave up runs this season. too sss. this way he has a 0.00 ERA.
  2. granted the 9th inning only equates to 2 full games. but the 8th is almost equivalent to 8 full games. how much sample size do you want? whats the over/under on 8th/9th IP stats SSS for starters in this day and age of baseball??? what about the 4th+ BA? too SSS as well? again...Farrell didnt lose this game. Price did. with a bit of help from abad.
  3. we need to win this one or Harmony will be posting Seattle stats from here to eternity. as for the relief pitching. we should probably have kimbrell warming up after the first BB/hit of the game, no?
  4. would you be blaming Farrell? then my posts in defense of Farrell (or any manager) would be the same. the numbers are right there. i posted them a few posts ago. with those numbers you would rather take the ball out of Price's hand after the HR? or let your low pitch count starter pitch? he wasnt laboring in the previous innings so i find it hard to believe his tank was empty. he threw 10 pitches in the 6th. and 10 pitches in the 7th. he was pounding the zone and not walking anyone. he gave up 3 hits over 7 innings. for the manager to give Price the benefit of the doubt in the 8th inning with less than 90 pitches thrown as opposed to putting in a RPer is not blasphemous. nor is it wrong. he threw 9 pitches in the 8th inning. and gave up 4 hits rather quickly. after which batter are you taking out David Price (with the numbers i posted) in place of abad/barnes/whomever? good for you. that still doesnt make this Farrell's fault. if he yanks Price after the bomb and barnes/abad spits the bit then Farrell is crucified for a quick hook (and that would be rightly so IMO).
  5. Price in 8th inning: 3.31 ERA thats his 4th best inning. 6th: 2.35 4th: 2.70 7th: 2.76 8th: 3.31 5th: 3.33 2nd: 3.44 3rd: 3.59 1st: 3.74 9th: 5.09 Batting Avg: 1st PA: .232 2nd: .250 3rd: .231 4th+: .226 so which one of these numbers have all of you sofa managers getting a relief pitcher up after the 7th inning????????
  6. so you are saying Farrell should have left Price in?
  7. awwww....you going to join UN with name calling too? such a cute puppy dog you are. you deserve a milkbone treat. good boy.
  8. UN. this is a completely honest question. find a post that i have made that is a lie.
  9. lol. true. but still....
  10. LOL. dammit. point taken. but i still stand by my statement that this L is NOT Farrell's fault.....
  11. no one said he has to be the manager. my point is that an Ace needs to pitch better than a 4.30 era. you feel differently. thats fine.
  12. absolutely true HFX. we can certainly spin it and give Price the benefit of the doubt once again that he pitched great. i'm fine with that. but im not fine with Farrell being blamed for this Loss.
  13. sorry UN. but this isnt little league where the game ends at 6 innings. this is big boy baseball and you play 9. Price started the game with a 4.26 ERA and after this "excellent work" his ERA went UP.
  14. lol. Farrell didnt put himself into that position. David Price did.
  15. ran out of gas after 89 pitches? he was excellent last night? are you serious? he was excellent for 7 innings and then pitched like playoff price for the 8th. 4 Earned in 7IP. thats like a Clay start.
  16. apologies Moon...but 4 Earned Runs in 7 IP is not pitching "very well"......
  17. right. so you are the one guy on the planet that has a reliever warming up after the 7th? when Price has under 90 pitches. and is cruising. OK. sure.
  18. not "aces"..... if Farrell is guilty of anything it is believing that his "ace" is an "ace".
  19. Price had 89 pitches through 7 innings. not 1 manager on the f@cking planet has a reliever warming up when his "ace" has that few pitches and is in the midst of pitching a gem. not 1. unfortunately David Price remembered he is a #4 pitcher once the 8th inning started. Eff Price. this L is on him. those that want to blame Farrell in this instance are wrong.
  20. Lol. It's like that itch you just can't seem to scratch I suppose....
  21. Lol. Look who has their panties in a bunch. Hahaha. @theyankeesfan - we never wanted that slug Beltran so go pound sand.
  22. Robot umps now!
  23. Just finished watching. Wow
  24. Can we reneg on our deal and get Espinoza back?!??!!?! Also, last night was a snapshot of life without Papi...... (we all better start getting used to it......)
