  1. now who is comparing clay and price? cant make this stuff up. i swear.
  2. Curt is like 78-1 in postseason with a -1.76 ERA. he gets a pass on his first home start. he has proven he can handle the pressure. let me know when price or kimbrel have a "bloody sock" game in yankees stadium in one of the most high leverage pressure packed games you can be in. i get it. you dont think April 11, 2016 was a game that price and/or kimbrel were trying to prove something. i do.
  3. please quote one of my posts where i have "made sh!t up". there's over 1800 of them on this website...surely you can find one.
  4. so you dont believe a high priced FA player is extra juiced / extra nervous / feels like he has something to prove to teammates and fanbase his first time stepping out onto his home ballfield? btw - not everyone forgets it quickly. i sure havent.
  5. HFX...my point was that a newly brought in high priced highest paid pitcher's first home start is the pressure start. if you dont agree that's fine.
  6. LOL. good point. i will take "good clay" this time of year every year though. let him do the suck first half.
  7. thank you. this was going to be my exact answer. when you are the new hired guns trying to gain respect from your teammates and adoration from the fanbase the first time you pitch at home is yuuuuge.
  8. or he's lost 30 #'s thus far and will continue to shred weight. it is possible.
  9. you could just say "thank you" for the 3 parades he's paid for.
  10. cONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOSTON RED SOX. THE 2016 AL EAST DIVISION WINNERS.
  11. 100% S5. i was just thinking about something similar this morning. the biggest games of the year for the Red Sox players this year. the first Home Game of the season and ALE clinching game. Home Opener: David Price: 5IP / 5ER Craig Kimbrel: 1IP / 3ER / 2BB / Loss ALE clinching game 1: David Price: 6.1IP / 6ER / 3HR / Loss ALE clinching game 2: Craig Kimbrel: 0.0IP / 4ER / 3BB / BLOWN SAVE / LOSS
  12. this gets magnified in the postseason when every batter is more patient and is invested into every AB 110%.
  13. i will be happy to tell him.
  14. Eff you Gary Sanchez!!!!!!! Ahahahahahaha
  15. 8-3 / 3.67 / 100 ip / 102H / 13HR / 20BB / 84K / 7.5 SO9 / 1.212 WHIP / .721 OPS / .264 BA 5-1 / 3.59 / 52.2IP / 46h / 4HR / 16BB / 34K / 5.8 SO9 / 1.177 WHIP / .649 OPS / .238 BA HE CANT EVEN BEAT CLAY BUCHHOLZ....... which is effing hysterical since that was the point of the very first post of this thread 5 months ago.....
  16. im not ignoring anything. if he cant even beat his own first half stats (which were pedestrian), you expect him to do better against the other "aces"? he's not even the best on his own team. let alone the other 29 teams.
  17. so do you want me to look at hits and Hr's , WAR, ERA, WHIP? it's kind of confusing. well comparing his second half with first half as stated in my previous post his ERA & WHIP are higher in the second half. His Hits per 9 is higher in the second half. His HR per AB rate is about the same. Hiis WAR is 2.9 for the season. i am unsure how to break it out per half.....
  18. 8-3 / 3.67 / 100 ip / 102H / 13HR / 20BB / 84K / 7.5 SO9 / 1.212 WHIP / .721 OPS / .264 BA SO9 down from first half. WHIP up from first half. OPS up from first half. BA up from first half. am i looking at the wrong numbers?
  19. good point on the defense.
  20. how do his numbers stack up in the postseason? unlucky for us that the postseason happens in the postseason.....
  21. 1 (since A700 ignored answering)
  22. i hear you. but we have brought people in "late" that have helped us get to parades before. it's not like he's supplanting Mike Schmidt.....
