  1. Hanley, as much as possible. He should be healthy, he's had a lot of rest as of late. Beni should lead-off vs RH SPers, and XB should lead-off vs LH SPers ( career .357 OBP vs LH SPers should be adequate ) until XB, if ever, develops more power, is my thinking. That gives Beni some looks in the 2 or 3 hole 1/3rd of the time.
  2. Maybe, maybe not. I happen to think it's played a part. Regardless, it still doesn't make much baseball sense having him as clean-up and not lead-off. Slump or no slump.
  3. I agree with this. For me, this is one of the biggest disconnects I have with Farrell... his lineups. If anything, Beni leading-off would've been the best spot for him. More pressure? Sure, but not as much as batting Clean-up would, plus leading-off played to his actual strengths.
  4. This draft immediately came to mind when I heard the C's got the first pick this week. That wasn't even the 25% chance to net the top pick. That Tim Duncan draft Celtics had like a 27% chance and still missed out. Getting Tim Duncan, I don't think even Rick Pitino could've f***ed that up. So, this sorta' makes up for all that.
  5. Is it Jerko or Guyerko?
  6. The loser of this game needs to take back Allen Craig
  7. holy christ, That was ages ago. I didn't realize the extent of that trade. That could be the biggest stick-up of all time! How do the Celts look for Free Agency? Think they'll pounce on anyone in particular?
  8. I have my doubts that former superstars of MLB, HOFers and not yet HOFers coming from a generation of ball players that actually got paid real money would want to put up with the daily grind of being manager.
  9. I actually caught this game last night since there was no Red Sox game. It was great game i thought. Haven't watched NBA in a very long time. Beal was unstoppable. Until the Celts started their aggressive transition defense and kept stealing the ball on the inbounds or shortly there after, the game was pretty tight.
  10. What's Paplebon up to these days? We need somebody for the pen. Can we pick him up to simply throw at Oriole batters for the fun of it then release him around June 5th?
  11. I look at Farrell and think, well, at least he's not bobby Valentine, but Francona is twice the manager Farrell is. s***, if I just think about WS wins, Francona is an good inning shy of being three times the manager Farrell is. I don't hate Farrell too much. I don't like his lineups much (some here don't think that's a big deal, so I'll digress), or some pinch running decisions that have cost us dearly. I liked him as pitching coach, but being manager warrants too much macro managing and not a lot of micro managing I'll assume. We get Price back, and hopefully Smith, and HanRam fully healthy, (3B is whole 'nother issue that goes beyond Farrell)... then see how we do. I want to give Farrell some time to work things out. We get some weapons back, we'll have a clearer picture on what needs to be done, if indeed we need to do anything at all.
  12. We can talk about Brian Johnson if you really want to. Ok. You start.
  13. I'd say 2016 Tribe vs Sox ALDS Game 1 Terry Francona
  14. I agree that EE is the better hitter and more likely to have his usual solid numbers when all is said and done. I also agree that it's a SSS. But who's fault is that? It's the 2017 season's fault being only 6 weeks old. I think there's some truth to the point made that many of these other, better hitters, other than Moreland wouldn't have help us that much either. It's a fair argument.
  15. Margot is doing pretty decent actually. .285 after going 2 for 3 today. .333 OBP/.763 OPS, 4 HRs, 13 RBI (he's lead-off, so I'm guessing he's not getting that many RBI opportunities to begin with ). He's only 5 for 10 in SBs, so he has some work to do not getting caught stealing.
  16. Well, so much for that Pawsox game, but there's good news: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox/clubhouse_insider/2017/05/david_price_did_really_well_today_in_simulated_start
  17. Where they playing this game, London?
  18. I'm fine with Young as OF depth long term I'm fine with our 1B depth long term I'm fine with Swihart as C depth long term I'm fine with Devers as 3B depth long term
  19. Well, they seem to have been treating Price's injury with kid gloves (and that's fine by me). Not sure I'd read too much into his timetable or how long it's taken for him to come back. We do have an Ace in Sale, so I think the Sox have taken advantage of that, I'll assume. Am I totally certain Price will come back and be our 2nd Ace or something close to that? No. But I'd say I'm around 80% confident he could.
  20. That last link doesn't seem to work, but you can get there from the first link under 'Other Links' > MiLB Gameday Audio. I'm not trying to advertise for Tunein Radio, but I just put the app on my phone to try it out. I X'd out of the premium promotion screen and it looks ready to go for today.
  21. For those who'd rather listen to Price pitch than watch Pom pitch;) 5/14 Gameday Thread: The Price is right in Pawtucket AAA - Pawtucket (David Price) vs Rochester [MIN] (Kyle Gibson) 1:35 pm Read more: http://forum.soxprospects.com/thread/3905/gameday-thread-price-right-pawtucket#ixzz4h3yiz445 http://forum.soxprospects.com/thread/3905/gameday-thread-price-right-pawtucket Hopefully the links work.
