You betcha, and before the game I predicted he would get killed by that Yankee lineup.

The hitting coach says JBJ is close, but I sure don't see it. I think Swihart probably is a better hitter than Vazquez, given enough at bats, but I don't think he was a better choice tonight. I too would have liked to see Moreland out there, Hanley at DH, JD in LF, and Beni in CF with JBJ on the bench.

I predicted a blowout and could not be happier to be wrong. A lot of good things in this game. It was great we tied it, but I honestly thought before the game that the Yankees had the better bullpen, and they sure did tonight. Theirs gave up 0 walks in the 3 innings, and our gave up 3 in 2 innings.

Scratch away. I blame Hembree for choking big time. He walked two guys he had 1-2 counts on.

Do you? Vaz had a very hard hit single tonight while Bogie and Devers just flailed away at the ball. Swihart has a lower OPS this year than Vazquez. What I will agree on is wondering why the heck Swihart is on the roster and not playing when literally everyone else is.

I say again, Vaz called no pitches tonight. They all came from the bench.

One more shot. If a loss, a great game except for Hembree who absolutely choked, walking two guys on whom he has 1-2 counts. Plus the balk. Plus the incredible amount of time between pitches. Can't forget, though, that all the pitches are being called by the dugout.

Boy, did Kelly a great a break. Hard hit but right to Hanley.

Rested Sox bullpen self destructs.

Is this a Sox bullpen disease? First Hembree losing two guys despite 1-2 counts. Now Kelly loses 1 despite and 0-2 count.

Yankees have a pretty good bullpen. Still, a way better game than I expected.

Hembree melted down immediately after the double. But he seems to have this special ability to get a 1-2 count and then walk a batter, which he did twice in a row while committing the balk.

He cannot handle pressure. And boy does he need to speed up.

Hembree will not be rushed. A pitch every 3 or 4 minutes. And it cost him. He forgot where he was.

I'll be honest--Hembree would not have been my choice for the 8th. He has good stuff, but he doesn't use it well.

Exactly. That's what I saw too.

I didn't see magic. I did see a guy moving his pitches around and throwing a lot of those knuckle curves that are hard to hit. Also a decent cut fastball. Never saw a change. He only gave up 4 hits in 6 innings. Granted, two dingers, but one was into that short porch in RF. Against the number one offense in MLB that recently has been hot as blazes.

Don't forget Beni. He's the dummy who tried to take second on a single. Makes no difference he made it. You critics have high standards.

Great game thru 4 1/2. Not at all what I expected. Ump seems to be giving more calls to Severino than Pom. If he can get thru the 5th, a great job.
