So much for, "he plays, they win." If I read those percentages right, the Sox lost one more game in 2016 and again in 2017 when JBJ was in the lineup.
More glaring is this little gem. Mookie has missed 4 games this year, and the Sox won 3 of them. Small sample size? You betcha. But so are slasher9's numbers, as mvp78's percentages demonstrate.
I do like, however, notin's numbers of 21 hits, 20 runs scored. This does not mean he's dynamite on the basepaths--especially not when he can't remember how many outs there are--but does mean that the bottom third can help a lot just by getting on base because Betts and Beni are next up. Mookie is 2d on the team in rbi's and Beni is tied for 3d. I thought those two singles by JBJ last night were darn important. He scored 1 of our 4 runs and had 2 of our 7 hits.
I have my doubts about JBJ, but have almost none about Cora's judgment. If he says JBJ should play, he should.
