Well Dalbec can do just about everything. I see only two real weaknesses in his game: hitting and fielding. He is, on the other hand, pretty competent in the on deck circle, in the dugout, and getting to and from the ballpark.
Actually, the history of Sox pitching suggests that at no level in the Sox system do they know how to improve pitchers, especially with respect to command.
Bello has good stuff and is a battler, more so than Sale who is too easily rattled. But Bello does not yet have the command he needs. To his credit, he does try to get low strikes, but tonight a lot of them ended up balls.
This was a very good start against a good Braves lineup.
Now let's see if the bullpen butchers it.
While I agree in principle that creating names for no reason is silly, I don't thing those big sweeping breaking balls are anything like the old slider, which was/is high velocity with a sharp, but not huge break.
Looks like Atlanta has Yoshida's number.
Yeah. Gimme Pivetta any time because he implodes with the first guy he faces. Then the 2d guy, then the 3d, then the 4th. No waiting with Pivetta, he throws the game away in the first inning.
