  1. Really? Ha that's too funny.
  2. Oh I see, thanks for the explanation.
  3. Barnes Brasier Hembree Workman Johnson Velazquez Poyner Is my hope at this point. Hembree could be beat out by Brewer or Lakins.
  4. My dream reliever LeClerc just got a four year extension from the Rangers. Bummer!
  5. I'm so upset right now.
  6. If anybody ever needed that one year contract to reset their value, it's Kimbrel. You simply don't get a 4-5 year contract given the second half and playoff performance he gave.
  7. Time Nunez plays is time Devers / Holt / Lin / Pedroia doesn't, which is the angle I'm coming from. I still don't think Thornburg has anything left, but happy to be proved wrong. Hembree we'll see..., but I still would prefer Velazquez to start the season in the majors.
  8. Sure but you have to wonder if Craig wishes he'd taken the deal now.
  9. The biggest predictor of how the Yankees will do is my diehard Yankees friend from college. I texted him the other day what he thinks their chances are, and he hasn't texted back yet. That can only mean one thing; he's worried!!! I taunted him mercilessly last year it was SO much fun.
  10. They did make that $17.9 million qualifying offer.
  11. I think the Sox have some "dead weight" in Swihart, Nunez, Thornburg, and Hembree. I'd like to see them moved so that young talent like Lin and Poyner can come up.
  12. I do expect his second half decline to continue, but you never know!
  13. I can't believe both of those guys are still available. Wow.
  14. Good point. They should trade Nunez to make room for Lin if his spring continues to be this good.
  15. My boy Lin had a big game yesterday. I hope he makes the team.
  16. I'm expecting to lose both. On the bright side, Benitendi or Betts can move into center field, and maybe my personal favorite Bryce Bentz can take an outfield corner. His last name still starts with 'B' so he qualifies right? I think losing Bogaerts will hurt more; obviously we can fill the position (Lin, Iglesias) but the drop in offense will be noticeable. I'm also expecting to lose Sale. But hey, let's enjoy 2019 and not worry about 2020 yet. We're going to be awesome this year. Since the Yankees will be better, the Sox will have to maintain a high level all season and thus will break 110 wins :)
  17. Did anyone ever pick up Jose?
  18. Last year they tried to limit Sale and it didn't work. I wonder what they will try this year. My idea is for him to pitch 3 starts regularly, then miss a start on purpose (and let Wright take it), so that would mean he pitches 75% of a regular starter. If a regular is 200, that would limit him to 150.
  19. Ahem ... My boy Tony Lin has a 1.167 OPS so far this spring. Chatham has a .697. I think Lin is the heir apparent.
  20. I don't recall Clay being effective out of the bullpen*. Is my memory incorrect? * much like my current concern about Brian Johnson
  21. And I'm still hoping Lin keeps swinging better & better and gets a position in the infield too.
  22. Chavis has to outplay Lin first.
  23. Wow! Let’s not have a trade JBJ thread this year
