    According to StatCorner, to date, Swihart’s framing has been roughly middle of the pack – 0.3 calls per game and 0.3 total runs so far this year below average – while Yadier Molina, the elite framer in the game to whom Vazquez is often compared, has been 2.3 calls per game and 2.8 total runs above average this year. A defensive impact of three runs might not sound like a lot, but over the course of months, it suggests a huge disparity.

    I'm good with it. The rotation needs all the help they can get. Swihart just hasn't seasoned enough yet IMO. I hope to see him back up sometime, and no rush really. His bat and just average catcher ability he could be an all star.

    Heck, I'd take 6 innings of 4 run ball from these guys and let the offense do its thing. Although we may have just lost Swiharts bat. Have they announced who's catching today?

    He sounds like a full blow addict. Having people hide your addiction from others, losing a job, people telling you to stop but you don't listen. Denial. Sounds like a drinking or drug addiction. It would be great if he can turn it around for both him and the Sox as he's pretty much untradeable, but I think this s*** show has just started. Someone didn't do their homework when signing this guy for sure.

    Leon is in Pawtucket last I knew. Maybe they are going to go with Vasquez a few games and see how the pitchers react. I hear ya though, maybe this rotation is just making Blake look bad......

    I'm alright with Swihart going down for as long as it takes to better his receiving skills. I don't think Hannigan is going anywhere for a while, at least not this season. We also don't know if Vasquez can hit. I hope he is healthy, and this isn't kneejerk reaction.

    Christian Vasquez to be called up. Could catch tomorrow for Porcello. Farrell ok with having three catchers on the roster.

    Sorry Spud, that's horsepucky....... I haven't read a post saying our rotation is good enough. Only high hopes at best. And maybe some posts praising an outing that wasn't a tragedy yet. I would bet on Buch to do better. He was one lucky late swing homer away or a caught popup today from having a good outing. Yes he will break down at some point. E-Rod is missed. Our last series we played the number one offense of last year, and now a team that is on fire. And we had a bad outing by our expensive ace. I can't stand that this is starting to look like 2015. But there are reasons we are negative one game. This aint over yet.

    Not just because of this start, but I'm seriously thinking Swihart may be extremely deficient calling a game and working with pitchers. I can understand some of the past balls and defensive blocking issues due to lack of experience. But having the entire rotation fall apart last year until Harrigan returned, and what we have seen so far this year has me questioning what is going on. Is CERA a stat on b-reference or Yahoo? I hope this isn't true, he could be a monster at the plate and I give him much props for how he handled himself last year, but something just doesn't seem right.
