  1. Kimbrel makes that catchers mitt pop. Wow.
  2. It's going to be strange seeing Koji come in here for the 8th.
  3. Yea, he fits in very well. He talks a lot, but it's growing on me. I wonder if he talks so much because he was doing radio. As much as I hate seeing Ors go, we got another good one with OB.
  4. HOly s***!!!!!!! BAM!!!!
  5. I'm really excited to see how JBJ hits this year..
  6. lets get ready to rumble............
  7. This makes me happy!!!!!
  8. AHAAHAHAH !!!!!!! Seriously ...... I've never heard Lovecraft mentioned in referencing the Sox......... well played. I read this earlier today, and it's more funny tonight than earlier.
  9. If he was doing those two a day workouts and had the fitness trainer like reported, it would have been easy to drop 30 to 40 pounds in a few months. You could almost eat like a horse on a good workout regiment like that as long as the food was healthy and still drop pounds. It blows my mind really. The initial red flag was that first low roller in spring training he missed. There was something very telling in that. And that money you mention should be considered chump change to him. Even if he gave up a million a year to a person to keep him in check would allow him to get another contract after this one and make millions more. But.... instead....... ride the pine..... kiss the career good bye. I'm good with benching him. He has done better since the Shaw challenge has been introduced. We aren't just talking spring training, we are talking a whole season of being bad the year before. If it's just the weight, Pablo can turn it around quickly. A couple months you can change you body immensely. I hope he does for the Sox sake.
  10. Ferrari............. ahahahah ........Ferrari.... you got to be kidding me.......
  11. Hey Mr. Scrooge, It would probably have been best to just keep quiet and let others enjoy themselves.
  12. Makes me proud to be a Mainer.......... there's something to be said about the brain power of the mussels we eat there.....I'd never box a Mainer........ we call it like we see it whatever box we stand on.........
  13. Same here. I think it's because most people can't believe someone is throwing away an opportunity that 99.99% of the world would like to have and would make almost any sacrifice to have the opportunity in life. But..... he's already cashed in millions of his chips. Good for him. Now I hope he turns it around or screws off. Hurts his back diving for a ball.... ok........ maybe.......... yea it could happen to anyone........ but it's going to happen more to the people that didn't prepare themselves. This guy is starting to make me think he is the anti-Rocky Balboa story......
  14. Yea, I can see it. I think Pablo and Shaw and Holt can hold down third to be about average, maybe we could get an upgrade there. I guess at this point if I hear trade with anything we have that has promise. I want to throw in Owens or Johnson or whatever and get that number 2 pitcher we could use. Easier said than done I know.
  15. you gotta work on your fat jokes....... that misses the mark just a tad......................
  16. I gotta know. Is this threads title a play off an Aliens cut scene? And if so, do you remember all the screaming and horror that was going on at the end of that scene?
  17. That only means he would win a arm wrestling match.
  18. Actually, in AAA his power was just about in the same range as Pablo in the last 5 years.
  19. He did. But back about 6 years. Pablo's stats for even the year 2014 are pretty good. It's just that 2015 year that is horrendous. And the absolute drop off from the amazing player he was 6 years ago which is making our heads spin why we picked him up and or so many years. Shaw went absolutely crazy for once month last year batting, then fell back to average the last month of the season. Yes, he's going crazy in spring. Maybe Shaw has figured something out, maybe Pablo has lost it.
  20. Why? You don't see any potential from him? I think we are loaded with back end arms and don't need an average position player.
  21. The thing is most likely Shaw at his best was Sandoval's average over the last half a decade, minus last year. I think some people here think Sandoval is kaput, and some here think he can regain some of what he was before last year. To me the odds are about 50/50, but I'd halve to go with Pablo, but it's probably because I can't imagine a player just tanking so bad within a year. But if we are now seeing injuries due to physical conditioning, that is something else. I'm kind of glad Pablo got injured . It makes the decision that much easier. And even though I think the team would be better off with Pablo turning it around, I'd much rather see Shaw at third in the hopes he keeps on hitting. I know little about Shaw's defense. But from last year he moved well for a very big guy. But he still moved like a very big guy, and seemed much more suited for first to me.
