  1. If you want to start a topic, offer a comment or opinion. If you don't have an opinion about Rose, why create the topic.
  2. Relative proximity to Nashville? Memphis has relative proximity to Nashville, not Boston. Theo must have been looking at one of those spinning globes where it's 3 inches between the two cities.
  3. When Pedroia makes those faces, is he snorting?
  4. At long as the equipment belongs to somebody other than the Red Sox, that's fine with me. Tony Pena might be a better answer than Salty especially with this pitching staff.
  5. Terry Louvello was talking about SWILHART? Darn, I knew I had the wrong station when I got stuck listening to Torey Lovullo talking about Swihart.
  6. Apparently Fred means business ! http://th05.deviantart.net/fs71/200H/i/2012/052/6/9/flaming_nostrils_by_zerothetrue-d4qk9ng.jpg http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/uncyclopedia/images/0/01/Elmer_fudd.gif/revision/latest?cb=20091015174759
  7. The Eck kept harping on Hannigan leaving his hand just hanging out there, but most catchers do the same thing. It's not often you see a guy stick his hand behind his back. Try and catch/block a pitch in the dirt with one hand behind your back.
  8. Jeez no. I'd rather have Montgomery come out of retirement.
  9. I guess that means you picked up Nova, Capuano, and that studly shortstop, Brendan Ryan.
  10. Have faith Kimmi. Sometimes aberrations last a couple days, sometimes a month, but never for a season. Heck even the Twinkies can score 9 runs against Chris Sale so you know anything can happen in baizball.
  11. And Cashman isn't even the GM.
  12. I spent a lot of time in Seal/Huntington Beach when I was younger. I kept waiting for a quake to send Orange County out to sea.
  13. I don't recall ever seeing a code of conduct similar to what some other forums have. If somebody gets out of line, click the little triangle to report the post. Although from what I've seen in my brief time here, I don't have a lot of faith in a mod doing too much about personal attacks. Also people have the option of putting somebody on their idiot/ignore list which comes in quite handy.
  14. I'm in a league that plays a 162 HTH schedule (baseballmanager.com). I had Lucroy and Gomes as my catchers. Both went to the DL so I picked up d'Arnaud. Two days later, he got DLed. Now I have Hundley so I'm waiting for the guillotine to drop once more.
  15. If a doctor is conservative, surgery is always the last resort. If rehab gets him to some percentage of his best, they'll have to determine what % is good enough based on his results. Maybe he gets by at 80%, maybe not, but being conservative the docs thought it was worth a shot. Or maybe mentally he's scared to really let it go consistently and his emotional state was an unknown until he actually got into game situations.
  16. Of note was the Ortiz - HanRam waltz in the dugout. No surprise that Papi led and Hanley followed.
  17. Only to those within shouting distance.
  18. I wore my maroon generic no logo sweatshirt today. I never realized it was a lucky garment before today.
  19. And maybe clubhouse chemistry.
  20. I suspect you didn't sweat much during the game due to the score so you won't even have to wash it.
  21. Schilling used to make notes in between innings. I wonder if he would have used a tablet if it was available back then.
  22. Lester hasn't thrown to first from the stretch in two years. He'll have fun in the NL. How come Orsillo never mentioned that? Too pre-occupied with his wardrobe, I guess. Maddon hit Lester in the 8 hole. Didn't LaRussa do that every once in awhile?
  23. I like the Pirates since they are a shining example of how to build a contender from scratch without much money in a small market. But their pitching may be on a par with the Sox.
  24. They are facing Hamels, not Galen Cisco or some other stiff. Fragile Clay could pitch lights out and Hamels could still win the game. Or the bullpen could implode and give up 5 runs to those punch and judy hitters. Unfortunately there is 2 sides to the ball ... even though the ball is round.
