  1. I don't know if they tore it up tonight, but the field surface looked great.
  2. Justin was really zipping it in there today. He touched 90 at least once according to Bradford's radio commentary. By the way, he doesn't mesh well with Joe Costig if you ask me.
  3. Apply for a refund.
  4. Pineda has great stuff but I'd lay 2-5 he will have shoulder problems and has trouble making 20 starts (Monopoly money only).
  5. The Moose was traded after the 1962 season. My uncle knew him and got me an autographed picture of him which I still have someplace.
  6. I grew up 5 miles across the Hudson pre-Impossible Dream season. From Yankee fans perspective, there was no rivalry. There may have been a Williams - DiMaggio rivalry but that was before my time so I don't know if that meant anything back then.
  7. Ain't that the truth.
  8. 1. Masahiro Tanaka 2. CC Sabathia 3. Michael Pineda 4. Nathan Eovaldi 5. Chris Capuano 6. Scott Baker 7. Ivan Nova Their offense will be their downfall? A guy whose health could be a crap shoot, a fat guy who's been hurt and has trouble breaking a pane of glass, an injury waiting to happen, a mediocre pitcher who looks like half the Sox rotation, a has-been who is hurt, a guy who is going to get waived, and a less than mediocre guy who is hurt. I don't think their offense is their number one worry ... but that's just me.
  9. Actually I don't dislike the Yankees ... only a few of the pretentious jerks that played for them since Steinbrenner took over, e.g. AFraud, Posada, Chamberlain. Believe it or not, there really wasn't much of a rivalry until Yaz arrived and the shipbuilder from Cleveland finagled his way into the Bronx.
  10. Pepitone with that funky stance.
  11. How long will it take for the first player to be injured by the torn up turf in the Bronx?
  12. Actually it's a superfecta. You left out Girardi although he has been slightly humbled lately by the mediocrity of his team. Try listening to his post game interviews.
  13. Sometimes inning to inning. How many times has he been pulled from the game in the middle innings due to various maladies. He's a great guy but fragile as hell.
  14. Bogaerts has been a good hitter his whole life except for 3-4 months last year. It's a head scratcher why so many people worry whether he really is much of a hitter at the ripe old age of 22. I won't lose any sleep over his fielding either, but maybe that's just me.
  15. CP, you are showing your age. I don't think the old Steelers and Lions QB will be much help this year, but Tommy might be.
  16. Morrissey Blvd is probably easier to get to by car or T, but I wouldn't call it a better location than Fenway. Being able to walk to Kenmore, Boylston St, or Newbury St has more appeal than Morrissey, it seems to me.
  17. With Victorino's health a crap shoot and Hanley's recent history of missing time, they would be crazy to trade Craig. There is a half-rumor which has been laughed off that the Giants might be interested in him due to Pence being out for awhile.
  18. It makes you wonder how many GMs and managers have ulcers.
  19. Is it really a debate when it is page after page of saying the same thing over and over but slightly different? My only thought is will it ebb and flow for the next 6 months or will it maintain its consistency. I'll report back after the World Series.
  20. The Yankees have more money than anybody so they have the option, if they so choose, to stack the team. For whatever reason, they have not spent wisely or been unable to convince enough high class free agents to come to NY or built a high quality farm system. I have no idea if they will pull something together this season, but they always have the possibility because of who they are.
  21. C L U T C H The debate goes on and on and on and on. And it's a long season. http://www.ohio.com/polopoly_fs/1.264970.1329282468!/image/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_500/meeker15cut-05.jpg
  22. I'd be more worried about the starting pitching, 2B, SS, and RF than the ARod situation.
  23. Get the plaque ready in Cooperstown. That's plaque not plague.
  24. Be glad you have a lawn to be seen. My disappeared under the snow a couple months ago and I may not see it again until April.
  25. No one told me about how the teams were. I lived it since my Mom was born in Brooklyn and my grandfather played semi-pro occasionally at Ebbets Field.
