  1. Ha.
  2. We wouldn't get to the cliff any sooner, it would just be a wider valley.
  3. The Gold Glove awards have become much, much better after they added a sabermetric component to it 3 or 4 years ago. I'm telling you, if you want the awards done right, let the stat geeks do the voting.
  4. Girardi was not analytical. Having a binder with splits does not make one analytical. The Yankees top priority is to find someone who can relate better to the youngsters, but another priority is to find someone who embraces analytics. I'm hearing your AAA coach (I think) is a top candidate.
  5. Oh, there's a cliff. Until it disappears, it's there.
  6. Cashman is looking for someone more analytically minded. He is a smart man.
  7. Don't count Pedroia out. He'll be back, and while he won't play like he did in his prime, he will give us solid production. You heard it here first!
  8. I'm hoping you hire Dusty Baker.
  9. I am very surprised. LOL
  10. This is true, but I do think managers are overdoing it a bit with pulling their starters early.
  11. Isn't that the truth? Of course we want the Sox in the World Series, but there's something to be said about watching a series and being stress free. LOL
  12. Reasonable post. I do not disagree with what you're saying.
  13. No one should ever doubt Pythagoras again. Ever.
  14. That comment really does make Dombrowski look bad.
  15. I wouldn't say that I hated the trade, but I definitely was not as ecstatic as most people here were. That said I love having Sale on the team. Way to soon to know how this pans out in the long run.
  16. The FO is saying that Pedroia will be baseball ready in 7 months, which puts his return around the end of May. I'll believe that when I see it. These return timetables have a way of getting pushed back 1 or 2 times. Marco Hernandez has been named as an internal option while Pedroia is out. I'd be fine with that, if indeed Pedroia makes it back in 7 months. But Dombrowski has to have a good Plan B.
  17. The impression that I've gotten from reading about why Farrell was let go was not because of lack of fire or focus, but because the youngsters were trying too hard and didn't know how to deal with not being able to play up to their expectations.
  18. I am on the improvement from Bogaerts bandwagon. Unfortunately, I'm also on the regression from Pomeranz bandwagon.
  19. Who says we're not improving?
  20. I wouldn't do a risky, long term contract, but I'd rather spend money on pitching than on offense. Just my preference. Once again, if we knew for certain that Price would be healthy, then my priority would be a big bat. It would be nice if we could find a diamond in the rough on a cheap contract.
  21. I will be very surprised if Girardi isn't back with the Yankees.
  22. It's refreshing to know that Kershaw finally figured out how to be clutch after all these years.
  23. I really feel like the improvement can come from the guys we already have. I have no problem with Dombrowski acquiring a power hitter for 1B/DH, but I don't think he needs to go crazy trying to get someone like Stanton. As many have said, the team did win 93 games with most of our guys not performing up to expectations. It's not like we absolutely stunk up the joint.
  24. Don't know about the rest of you, but I am ready for some baseball. I am really looking forward to a good pitcher's duel between Kershaw and Keuchel. Go Baseball!
