  1. The entire HOF voting process is messed up anyway. I cannot put a lot of stock into who gets in and who doesn't. That said, if I were voting, I would not vote for any known steroids users.
  2. Yes, he does. It also seems like he thinks he is bigger than the team.
  3. Also, I think that's why they're trying to involve a 3rd team in the deal.
  4. I would agree. There is no reason for us to take Myers if we're not going to get some cost controlled pitching along with him.
  5. Even more reason why he doesn't need to hold out for the most money. Opt for the happiness, Mookie.
  6. Better than that boneheaded road schedule we started off with last year.
  7. The latest speculation is that the trade is not likely to happen, but as we all know, that type of speculation changes daily. I'm guessing that SD and Boston are looking to somehow involve a 3rd team. Who knows? I do have faith in Bloom to get us a 5th starter one way or another.
  8. Exactly. Even the most durable pitchers barely average over 6 innings per game.
  9. The Yankees can only hope. If I recall correctly, that contract was heavily back loaded, so he hasn't earned much of the contract yet.
  10. Ha. You and I are on the same page when it comes to the Yankees and sign stealing.
  11. I don't even like it for the #5 spot. I don't like how the role of the starting pitcher is seemingly being diminished, little by little.
  12. I have a lot of respect for Bogaerts.
  13. As a mother, I would have told Mookie to take the deal. Lifetime security and happiness playing for a team that he supposedly loved.
  14. There is always the trade route.
  15. I am not a fan of using an opener or having a bullpen game as a regular turn in the rotation, but that seems to be the way things are trending. I guess I have to get used to it.
  16. I am sure that the Sox are not done yet, but I'm surprised that they haven't added some depth starting pitching yet. Maybe those guys are still holding out for major league contracts? It's looking more and more like the Sox are going to go with the opener or piggy back strategy to start the season, then add midseason as needed.
  17. Also, the Yankees are toast before the season even starts.
  18. Albatross contract. With 7 more years to go after this one.
  19. I get your point. No one wants to feel disrespected when it comes to his/her salary.
  20. I don't wish this kind of injury on anyone, even the arch enemy. What a terrible break for him. I guess the Yankees supposed pitching depth is going to be tested right away.
  21. I would probably not be happy if all the other employees were making $40 mil, but that's not quite the same thing. I wouldn't be asking for $41 million so that I could be the highest paid teacher in the building.
  22. Ha. I would have an open invitation for Speier.
  23. That's an interesting perspective. I don't see leaving money on the table as a sign of weakness. I actually see it as a sign of strength, if anything.
  24. Give me $20 mil, I'd feel very much appreciated.
  25. I have a more optimistic outlook on this season than most people. The Sox are going to make some noise! Be excited!
