  1. I'm wondering with this group of MLB players who are testing positive, how many of them have gotten ill or have shown any symptoms. The impression that I'm getting is that most of them didn't even know they had the virus.
  2. Lots of piggybacking, lots of bullpen games. If you're going to go that route, a 60 game season is the time to do it. ERod will be like our trade deadline acquisition to put us over the top.
  3. I miss him too. LOL, I forgot about Jim Buchanan. As I said, you gotta love him!
  4. Joe Kelly going to the wrong dugout. LOL Gotta love him!
  5. Buster Posey is out. Michael Kopech has also opted out.
  6. I do not like the idea of piping in crowd noise. Maybe the players would like to hear it? I'd rather have the players mic'd up and listen to their comments throughout the game.
  7. Drive in baseball doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It would be much easier just to let a limited number of fans into the games.
  8. If the Sox make Mookie the best offer, I think he'll come back.
  9. I have no regrets over the Sox trading Mookie. I will miss him, but IMO, it was the right thing to do. It has worked out even better for the Sox with this shortened season. I would be willing to sign him for a one year deal in 2021, but I hope the Sox don't offer him a monster contract.
  10. I don't believe that Mookie wanted out of Boston. I think he really believed that he would get a contract larger than $300 mil for 10 years. He was going for the money, regardless of where that was. I'm guessing that he probably does have some regret about not taking the Sox' deal, but he's not going to say "I should have taken the offer when I had the chance." No one foresaw this coming. It's just an unfortunate situation for him and everybody else.
  11. Nice! My understanding is that Tek did a very good job of calling balls and strikes. Forget robot umps. Varitek for umpire!
  12. I think Tek will eventually manage the team soon too, but I don't know if it will be that soon. Maybe. Welcome back from you self-imposed ban. Behave yourself.
  13. I think Mookie almost has to take a one year deal. Either that, or settle for a lot smaller deal than what he was hoping for. He says that he has no regrets about not taking any of the Red Sox' offers.
  14. I was thinking in a Spring Training complex because they would need several fields.
  15. Tom Caron @TomCaron · 21m Takeaways from the Red Sox 4-0 win over the Red Sox: -Eovaldi looks good -Lucroy looks ready to battle for a spot on the roster -It's difficult to keep score of these intrasquad games -The players seem to take social distancing seriously -Varitek had way too much fun being an ump
  16. I still think it would have been a good idea to play all the games in one or two locations and limit the travel.
  17. Steve Bittenbender @freelancehack · 8h NBA: We're going to play games all-day NHL: We're spreading six games across the day as well. MLB: We're syncing our watches and everyone will start at 7:35 local time, got that?
  18. Two weeks until Opening Day! Let's go!
  19. Yeah, and your point is?
  20. LOL I'm not really a fan of the bobblehead. Good deal anyway!
  21. That he is. I'm glad that he is a vital part of the organization.
  22. Marly Rivera @MarlyRiveraESPN · 3h ESPN has learned that during MLB's 8 days of intake tests, 3,740 saliva tests were completed, 66 positives (1.8%) 58 players, 8 staff. In first batch of next round of testing, “monitoring,” 2,111 tests were completed, 10 positives (0.5%) 8 players, 2 staff
  23. Oh, be still my heart. He would still be my catcher if I were the GM/manager.
