    Detroit might be the worse team in the league for throwing out runners.

    It happens when you get a runner on base and he has to pitch from stretch. Ellsbury definitely had an effect on him but he beat Ellsbury during the entire exchange.

    By the time Ellsbury left first base to get his lead Verlander was releasing the ball to the plate. That was terrible. Ellsbury needs to be off the base to begin each time... at least a couple of steps

    I think that the Sox should be testing Miggy more ... I would have thrown to second base just to get him to make quick movements to get back to the bag. I would definitely be laying some down the 3rd base line ... if Miggy moves in on Ellsbury then Ellsbury should try to slap the ball past him ... the Sox have to begin making contact at the plate ... obviously.

    I am not a Tigers fan as you know but Miggy is not human ... he can hit with his hands alone.

    It was close from some of the reply angles. Amazing win. I called a buddy to find that he was sleeping ... he could not believe it ...

    I think that Detroit's strategy was to throw first strike pitches thinking that the Sox players want to work the pitch count and obviously Big Papi thought that also. I would hope that the Sox come out swinging on Tuesday and then settle into working the count after the 2nd or 3rd inning.
