  1. Bradshaw was pretty darn good playing on a very talented team. Bradshaw has the SB's but not the career win %.
  2. It's all about winning ... you know that. Come on man ... at the end of the day who cares what type of season Cabrera had ... he did not deliver a championship to Detroit.
  3. The knock on Manning is that he played most of his career in a domed stadium with some very impressive receivers. Of course he is going to put up some big numbers when you do not have to deal with wind, rain and snow. Brady wins more ... end of story.
  4. Brady is 17-7 in playoff games, and Manning is 9-11. Eight of the 12 times Manning has led his team into the postseason, his team lost its first game. And these are the same teams that he was making all his career stats with. He is not a winner.
  5. Brady's head to head record against Manning is 10W's and 4L's. Manning's head to head record against Brady is 4W and 10L's. His latest victory came against all odds. Wilfork, Kelly, Mayo injured. Von Miller was running around Nate Solder like he wasn't there. Miller hit Brady so hard from behind in the first quarter that it was amazing that he took another snap. Denver with Peyton Manning had a 24 - 0 lead because of 3 turnovers ... not one of the turnovers was Brady's fault. Who won the game in the end? This alone should relieve you of any doubt who is better.
  6. He had 1 error playing left last season. He has a good arm. He will not win a gold glove as a bench player. He could potentially become a bench player in 2015. He has the entire 2014 season at Pawtucket to prove himself. Why are you making such a fuss about nothing.
  7. Brady is by far the best QB to play in the NFL ... ever.
  8. Rumor has it that Tanaka will like to play for the Red Sox. Apparently he has a group of friends who live in the greater Boston area and his father had attended MIT.
  9. Come on UN ... you were served ... just slowly walk away.
  10. I am like you Palodios on Buchholz ... but it would have to be something very special coming our way to move him and who is going to part with something special knowing how fragile Buch is. When you say 5 guys in top 100 ... do you mean 50 pitchers?
  11. Come on Bellhorn pay attention. Anyway word is that our FO is open to dealing Lackey, Peavy and Dempster this off season. Should they deal Lackey we would have the following in 2013: Lester Buchholz Peavy Doubront Workman Dempster
  12. You had better stick to baseball UN.
  13. Did I not tell you not to believe everything that you read. He sounds a lot like Nava and Carp to me. Bwahahajahahaha
  14. Sox need Lackey next season because of Buchholz and his injuries. In 2015 we could potentially be seeing Owens, Barnes, Ranaudo. We also have Webster, Doubront & Workman.
  15. Firstly, - Brady has done more with less than any QB playing in the modern era. If Brady was the QB for Denver Sunday Night Denver wins that game going away. Secondly - In the last 2 SB loses to NY Brady lead the team down the field for the go ahead scores. Both times the defense allowed Eli Manning to drive the length of the field to win. One ball was trapped against the receivers helmet ... no catch like that has ever been seen before. Two players missed tackling Manning on the same play. If the NE D held up Brady would have 2 more championships.
  16. Yeah ... and I run a faster 40 yard dash than Tom Brady but that did not stop Brady from becoming the greatest QB in NFL history. Hassan is a gold glove caliber LF and he has one of the best eyes at the plate in the minors. You need competent bench players like we had this season with Nava and Carp. Sure he can wash out in 2014 but I used the word potential arrivals in 2015 did I not? Do not believe everything you read MVP. I doubt that either Carp or Gomes will still be with the Sox in 2015.
  17. We need Lackey in 2013 ... after 2013 not so much.
  18. Probably so. However, they need to have some balance in the line-up between LH and RH bats. A LHP might be more valuable pitching in Yankee Stadium and and RHP might be more valuable pitching in Fenway. Lester's success at Fenway is awesome.
  19. Santana can play 1B or C. He is young and under control for 4 years at a very good price. WMB can play 1B, 3B, 2B. He has pop and is a great overall athlete. Hanigan can hit a little but his defense is solid. He throws out between 40 - 50% of base runners. He receives the ball well. At the end of the day it would be nice to have all 3 of these players with the 2014 team. Now let us look ahead to 2015 and potential additions to the team. SP - Owens, Barnes, Ranaudo - Can potentially be our 3,4,5 IF - Cecchini, Hassan, Vasquez OF - Brentz, Hassan So if the Sox can work a deal for Santana without using any of the players from the 2015 list then I would be all for it. If the Sox bring Napoli back then we only need to add Hanigan and it is not going to cost all that much to get him.
  20. I think it will take a multiple team trade for the Sox to pry Santana from Cleveland. Even if it took 4 players to get him I would do it. Especially if the Sox could manage to package Dempster in the deal ... not sure how much value Dempster has right now ... perhaps more with a NL team. Cleveland has no need at 2B so Mookie Betts would not offer much value to Cleveland but he would be a nice carrot for a number of teams. Should we loose all 4 of our FA's we will find ways to acquire players such as Santana, Hart, or Hanigan. Cleveland might not have an issue with a Lavarnway or Butler as a #2 catcher.
  21. I do not see any value in acquiring Stubbs. I like the lineup but would rather acquire Hanigan to catch and put Santana at 1B. If the Sox could pull off a deal for Santana they should but I think it more likely for them to acquire Hanigan and not Hart. I do not think Hart will come to Boston. He has 4 kids, family guy, would rather be with a team who trains in Arizona where they live.
  22. I hear you Palodios ... what would you be willing to offer for Santana?
  23. Cano hit more HR's away than at home last season ... but I do agree that the stadium is made for him
  24. I have to add my two cents here ... I would rather have Santana than Salty ... I would play Santana at 1B but he can also be used behind the plate. This kid looks promising and he would be a great value play. The Sox can package Lavarnway/ Butler along with a prospect .... maybe Webster for Santana. The Sox can team Ross with Hanigan or Lavarnway/Butler.
  25. You are correct UN ... In fact I was the one that argued that signing Pedroia to age 38 was a mistake but not any longer. Even if Pedroia produces to age 36 and becomes useless thereafter he will have earned his money.
