  1. I posted the ranking from a couple of years ago. I know Henry saved a bundle when SF volunteered to pay for all of Devers and other salaries came off the books too. The only two players of significance they signed were Suarez and Contreras-and Contreras was second tier.
  2. It’s very hard to believe he is really committed to winning because he knows what the team needed (and didn’t get) this year as well as anyone. That talent was out there. He just wouldn’t pony up the cash to get it.
  3. 11th is an improvement but they really should be upper third at the very least. Top 5 is even better.
  4. I might consider going quietly into the sunset but I realize how much people here would miss me. I just couldn’t do that to you all. 😉
  5. I have said all along that it’s Henry’s money to do with what he pleases. With his resources it IS being cheap to be in the middle of the pack. He’s prioritizing profits above winning but claims otherwise. Thats dishonest.
  6. Contreras absolutely crushed a HR too. Not watching too many ST games. Let’s get the season started.
  7. We should do better if Henry was honest about winning being important. I think we should AT LEAST be top third, probably top five in spending. Being in the middle when you have the resources Henry has for me means he’s cheap.
  8. I can live with “Henry doesn’t spend ENOUGH “. Can you?
  9. It’s the most recent data available. If you can update it by all means do so. Until then I’ll keep repeating it to support my contention that Henry is a cheap SOB
  10. It doesn’t matter how close the range is-the Flops should not be below average in that category.
  11. What’s the current percentage of revenue spent on player salaries? Last I checked we were 23rd in baseball. Unacceptable.
  12. IKF is useless. We have guys like that already on the roster. There was no need to spend a dime on him. Gray was a good signing as long as he wasn’t regarded as our #2 SP. no problem with adding Gray ALONG WITH a big bat, which never got done. That’s my lane. We all know why we didn’t finish the job of completing a competitive roster, don’t we.
  13. Fred is ALWAYS right. You guys should know that by now. However misquoting Fred will always lead to a correction. Henry kept his wallet closed as usual, being a cheap SOB and the results will make FLOPS fans weep this summer.
  14. It was never my intention to try to convince anyone of anything. Just making my personal predictions now that Breslow has again failed to do his job and create a contender for a ring.
  15. At the end of the season, after all the games are played and the playoffs begin without us, you will see that I was right all along.
  16. I am not overly optimistic for the O’s chances to make the playoffs. Just more optimistic about them than I am about our anemic lineup.
  17. Judge is the MVP for a reason. There isn’t a more menacing hitter in baseball today. And I know Cole is already throwing bullpen sessions and I think I read he hit 96 on the gun already. The Yankmees were better than us last year and they are getting their ace back. We added a single useful player this offseason and a bunch of mediocre ones. That addition gives us an extra win or two. The good news is that I think we are better than the Rays. How’s that for optimism?
  18. I don't assign these hypothetical predictions with any more weight than the guesses we all are making here. The NYY have their ace back. The Jays are better because they greatly improved after signing Cease and Okomoto. They won 94 games last year and are better this year. The NYY got their ace and a healthy Judge back. The Orioles had an off year after winning 91 games in 2024 and they got a prime batter (who we should have signed) in Alonso. I expect they will win around 92 games, edging us out for third place.
  19. Thats my opinion and I am sticking with it. Hopefully I am wrong and we finish in first place. Watch and weep!
  20. My definition of "out of the question" means mathmatically impossible. We won't win just 70. Nor will we win 95. I like my prediction, right around 90, 88-90 sounds about right.
  21. Suit yourself, but IMO you are taking this WAY too seriously.
  22. Depends. If we manage to make the playoffs we might win a couple more.
  23. I think its clear that Toronto and NY have better rosters than we do. It will be close between the O's and the Flops. I predict that the O's will win 91 games to edge out the Flops. The deciding factor will be that we cannot score enough runs to win more than 90 games.
  24. I am saying that no win total that does not exceed the total number of games played is "out of the question". However I think we are discussing what is REASONABLE, and I think around 90 wins or so is reasonable, good for fourth place since three teams in the ALE are better than us.
