Its a fine line. Pull the SP too soon and the pen gets burned out. Pull him too late and the team loses. In a close game like this I pull him sooner, not later. Valentine waited too long tonite.

Bard has to learn to trust his stuff out there. He still seems tentative and nibbles too much. He needs to pound the strike zone, especially early in the count.
