"im sick of cheapskate billionaires selling us a mediocre product." And that is part of the problem: Henry has turned cheap to maximize his profits. Breslow promised that the team would be BUYERS at the TD. And I guess they were: they bought a couple of M&Ms. He apparently has told his GM to dig deep into the dregs of the barrel to come up with has-been players to see if they have anything left rather than go after players with actual talent who fill known holes. And we the fans are supposed to just say "yes sir, may I have another"?? This organization is CRAP and yes, the Guardians deserve to be playing in Oct, not us.

We are choking right now! At one point we were shoe ins for the playoffs. Now we have to play three more tough series, two against division leaders. While we choke the season away (again) the Guardians have won 7 in a row. THEY deserve to be in, not us. We are sleep walking to end the season as we frequently do and THEY are putting in the effort to show THEY want it. And they deserve it.

Exactly! Breslow whiffed. He did some good things in the past like getting Crochet and Chapman but when it came to fortifying the team and putting it in the best possible position to make the playoffs he screwed up. And that’s getting very old. I think if they don’t get in he needs to go. And he can take Cora and half the position players with him.

The point is that the Flops TEAM choked. They were a game away from winning a ring and ahead in the late innings. It was a team effort. It’s their personality and it’s happening again this year. Do you honestly think they will make the playoffs? They’re in Tampa this weekend where they always seem to have trouble. Then they play two division leaders. I’d give them maybe a 20% chance of getting in.

it’s going to have to be an extensive rebuild from the GM on down. There are only a handful of position players I’d keep. The pitching imo is in better shape and there are players in the minors who are likely to contribute. We are probably a few years away from competing for a ring-if the rebuild is done properly.

I have participated in other forums where I used that term referring to another poster and rightfully received a suspension. But hey-if name calling here is cool I’m in! I’ll defer to what the mods think here regarding name calling. If it’s ok then it’s fine with me. Now here’s the definition of a “troll”. I never post simply to evoke a negative response. I don’t don’t do personal attacks and I don’t knowingly post false statements. ”Trolling someone means deliberately provoking, upsetting, or causing conflict by posting inflammatory or off-topic comments online. The goal is to elicit an emotional response, create drama, or humiliate others, often through false statements, personal attacks, or harassment.” Thats all I have to say on this . It’s a baseball forum. Back to baseball.

I’m so sorry you feel that way But let me correct you. A “ troll” intentionally stirs the pot just to stir the pot. Everything I write here is something I actually believe in. For example, if I write that the game is over (and by your own admission I’m right more often than not) then I believe it’s over. If I write that Rafaela stinks or that the flops are a franchise of chokers that’s what I believe. Each to his own. See the difference? And frankly I don’t give a rats ass if you agree with what I write or even if you detest it. Why don’t you just ignore what I write. You might feel more balanced that way. Oh-and the name calling is personal and offensive. Comment on my posts if you like but the personal s*** is beneath you. 🙄

Nah Go Guardians! They deserve the playoffs more than the FLOPS do. This team, this franchise, is a bunch of chokers. At one point recently they were nearly a lock to make the playoffs. Now its less than 50-50. How many times in the last 10-15 years has this group of bums choked away a significant lead......more than any other team I think. 1978, 1986, 2003, and 2011...is there more? You can add 2025 to the list. Worse franchise in the Boston area by far.
-
The Astros have more lost WAR than the FLOPS yet they are in first place 15 games over .500. They seem to have managed well enough. Our guys simply didn't suck it up. Instead they just sucked. Not single player on the injured list got an AB since they went on the list. Its up to the players who ARE playing to perform. Obviously they have not. Instead they have AGAIN folded at crunch time. Its who this franchise is. Chokers.
-
Thanks. Flops fans are entirely too willing to play the injury card to apologize for guys stinking. The fact is that the regulars out there with few exceptions simply haven’t sucked it up and played well. I’m not going to let anyone excuse their performance and blame injuries. That’s BS. It is the culture of the Boston Red Flops to choke down the stretch. I don’t see that changing until Henry sells the team and new management is put in place. This is by far the worse run franchise in the Boston area.
-
The problem is not the injuries. The problem is that the guys who ARE in the lineup aren’t performing. Bregman. Gonzalez. Rafaela. Yoshida. Refsnider. To a lesser extent Narvaez. Etc if you asked the manager and the players about why the team isn’t going to make the playoffs I doubt very much that they would excuse their performance by playing the injury card.. I won’t either.
-
Again, I am not going to go down the list of injuries for every team. That information is available to you if you’re interested. Injuries are an excuse that is convenient for people who like to excuse poor performances. Bregman isn’t injured now, is he? He is still stinking. So is Gonzalez. And Rafaela? Is he injured? These guys are just sucking. Maybe if they didn’t suck we would have made the playoffs. Now that seems very unlikely. Fact is, performing well is up to the players who are playing. The bums we are trotting out there just aren’t doing their jobs. Btw, I looked at your link. Seems two teams right in there (Astros and Dodgers) are worse off than us and the Jays are very close-yet they lead the division. Injuries=excuses
