The Rays, when healthy, are not that bad offensively. They ranked 5th in OPS as of last night when I checked. Not mashers, but with their pitching staff their offense is certainly adequate to win games. The proof is their record relative to ours. They will be in the mix all year long.

Regardless of how this game works out, its much better than the way Sit and Spit would have handled it.

Exactly. The pitcher was obviously having trouble finding the plate and Gonzalez swinging at the first pitch is dumb baseball.

Doubtful. The guy is having a bad year. He will get a few HRs; hell, Marlon Byrd hit one. Gonzo's act is getting really old. No plate discipline; swinging at the first pitch there was just plain STUPID.

Yeah, they suck. But we cannot control that. They only thing the players can control is their own performance. Time to start looking at that. Meanwhile, a questionable move by Valentine. Pena has no hits vs Atchison.

There is entirely too much whining about balls and strikes on this team. Doubront left the hill twice to get into the dugout tonite; Ortiz is constantly doing it. You don't see it that much on other teams. They ought to focus on hitting the baseball and stop blaming the umps.
