  1. Crawford is going to start if he is healthy, whether anyone likes it or not. He is paid way too much money to sit. Its not going to happen. I think he will be fine this year, eventually.
  2. In 60 games prior to the 27 he has played this year, Nava's career OPS is .711. He is hot right now, which is great, fun to watch. It won't last. And Crawford will contribute. He had a bad year. It will take him some time to get back into it, but if he is healthy again, he is too good not to contribute. Look at his career stats (career OPS of .773 plus speed). He is better than Nava.
  3. Nava is just not that good. He will slowly come back to earth. I agree with Manny that its time to package him while his value is high in a deal to get a high quality SP.
  4. He has the right to be disappointed and angry AT HIMSELF FOR SCREWING IT UP; he has no right to be disappointed at management's decision to demote him unless he thinks he did just fine out there. Then I would probably start him on Lithium. And however he feels, he should keep his mouth SHUT. No one wants to hear Daniel Bard whining about how badly he was treated.
  5. No, we lost to a superior team. Check the standings.
  6. From Daniel Bard: “It’s not my decision. I’m just an employee here. Obviously, I’m not thrilled with it. If it was me making the decision it might have been different. But I tried to be respectful about it," he said. “Once I get the anger and disappointment out of the way you just have to try to make the best out of the situation.” Bard and Mighty Mouth make quite a pair. It would have been better if he had accepted the fact that he needs to work on things in order to SAVE HIS CAREER, and it would have been much better if he had said nothing and owned his s***** performance to date as a SP. Here is what he should have said: "I realize that my performance this year has been less than everyone expected. I take full responsibility for that and will do whatever the management feels is best for me to do in order to once again become a dominant pitcher in whatever role they feel is best for the team" I really don't want to hear much more of what Daniel Bard thinks.
  7. Prediction: Red Sox 7, Orioles 3 Buchholz has been pitching well of late, and our offense is due for some runs. Matusz isn't that good. More importantly, I think the players are going to start to feel a sense of urgency to start winning again. From page 1. Got our run total correct. Glad I missed on the O's runs.
  8. Its too late to work on that pitch for this season. But you are right: a changeup would make Lester much more effective. Everything he throws is at least 90mph
  9. I like both of them. And they work very well together.
  10. I would take him out now, after the walk. No need to push this.
  11. The "Ask Jerry" question of the night: "Who would you want to play you in a biopic of your life" Remy: "Johnny Depp"
  12. Yup. Nice job, but no need to blow his arm off.
  13. His mother must be proud of him. What is Gonzalez doing with his finger in Bettemint's back pocket?
  14. Aviles needs a day off. His production is falling like a rock.
  15. They could go out and get it though. We will see how committed our FO is to making this team a real contender.
  16. Agree. Tonite is good too; its tame. Winning big makes things soporific sometimes...not that its a bad thing.
  17. The other thing about Nava is that you rarely see him swinging at balls outside of the strike zone. He takes a lot of pitches. Its going to be tough to send him back down.
  18. Bucky is as sharp as I have ever seen him. Good velocity too...consistently 94 on his fastball and 80 on his changeup.

  20. Two more starts and I will believe that.
  21. LOL...he is not even back yet and you are already s***ing on him. At least wait for his first AB.
