    Wouldn't be ironic if FISTER, of all pitchers, pitched the pennant clinching game for us.

    Fister hasn't exactly inspired confidence during his last three outings, and he is facing a team that scores 12 runs a game with some regularity. If he can somehow manage to keep us in the game until the sixth inning then our pen can take over and they are very good, usually. The key is not getting behind by 3-5 runs before we even pick up a bat, as has been the case too often lately. Overall, I am not confident that Fister can do it; its like throwing raw meat into a lions den. But baseball is a strange game......

    There is a large Jewish population in NY. Its also possible that some of the players or staff are Jewish. Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year for Jews.

    Yom Kippur starts at sundown tonight.....the Jewish day starts at sundown. Thats probably the reason.

    We just aren't a very good team. Thats just the way it is. And we don't have a very good manager. When we lose the lead in the ALE and become the WC at least there is a chance that Farrell will get fired.

    The Yankees wouldn't end our season; they would just force us to play the Twins in a WC game.

    What we need is NOT to play catchup baseball. Catchup baseball is losing baseball.

    Well this WAS the key game. Now we have to depend on Fister to win tomorrow. Not likely, unfortunately. Not sure it would be worse to settle for the WC and play the Twins or lose to the Yankees in a one game playoff.

    Well that was quick. Its really getting old, being behind by a crooked number before we even grab a bat.

    Tonight's game is the key to winning the ALE IMO. If we win we are a lock to win it. If we lose, well, Fister is pitching tomorrow against the best offense in the league. Nuff said. Lose and both Pom and Sale have to win...a tough assignment. I am not counting on the Yankees to lose another game.

    I take a size 36 shoe. Big box. Fact is, if ERod cannot win tonight its going to be very very close. I am not counting on Fister winning; no one should. And being in the position of having to win the last two games is hardly comforting. Not counting on any more Yankee losses during the regular season; they are tough at home.

    When you have 17 losses it tells you something. Thats hard to do.

    If we can get someone of value I am sure the Sox would consider it. He had 17 losses this year. He basically sucked all year. I admit he will likely be here next year, but he should not be on any playoff roster.

    Neither is keeping Porcello. All I know for now is that he is very unlikely to be on the postseason roster.

    So who besides Kimbrel is in the pen for the playoffs? Reed Kelly Scott Abad Smith Price Workman Barnes Hembree Maddox Who gets left off? All these guys have been fairly good to excellent

    Porcello has pitched his last game for this team this year. It may be his last game for the team ever.

    Its not even the corners...some missed calls were totally inside the zone. He called a ball on Porcello just because Vas didn't catch the pitch

    So a grand slam is now a Grand Porcello?

    No. Not with Porcello out there. I would have someone ready in the pen and allow him ONE baserunner before he is replaced.

    And still no one is warming up in the pen......

    Why is Porcello still in the game? We have what-20 pitchers in the pen? Price is ready. Let him have a chance.

    He didn't see it that way. In fact, his weight loss plan was to have his head removed. How creative!
