  1. Swihart has never been given a fair chance to play regularly. Its tough to play off and on again.
  2. Like I said....yet he is STILL in there. Cora made a mistake.
  3. He needs to come out of this game while its still in reach....where is Johnson when we need him?
  4. Sure. Why not try to steal third base with Bradley trying to bat him in.
  5. I agree with your point that the loss of velocity decreases the margin for error. However, Pomeranz is never going to blow guys away with a blazing fastball. He will always rely on command rather than velocity. I am confident that he can win a lot of games with his stuff if he can hit the corners-and equally confident that he will lose a lot of games if he cannot command his pitches. The same can be said about a lot of pitchers. Just as a reminder, last year, despite not having a great fastball, he was 17-6 with a 3.32 ERA.
  6. And that is a warped Yankee fan take. Everyone knows that there are guys who do not need velocity to win and that there are guys who throw in the mid to upper 90s who do not win. Its control that matters, not velocity.
  7. Going to be a very long day unless Pomeranz can find the plate soon
  8. Great play by Holt.....btw, these pink uniforms just don't cut it. They are WRONG.
  9. Great! More power to him. Maybe, as I wrote, a change of scenery would help him. At the very least I want him on the pine on a regular basis, entering games as a late inning defensive replacement or given an occasional start to spell the competent OFs we have. He had his chance here. He failed.
  10. With those numbers I doubt any team would "snag him". GMs watch tape. They can see how truly helpless he is at the plate. Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good. I harbor no ill will towards Bradley, but neither do I want him on my team any more. There are alternatives that make us a better club without him.
  11. Tale of the tape as of this morning. Bradley is headed towards being released IMO-if he doesn't accept a demotion to AAA. .167/.510/37 with a WAR of -0.4. Truly horrendous numbers that no amount of defense can make up for.
  12. Bradley makes the third out....why even bother putting him in the lineup? Isn't there anyone at Pawtucket we could bring up to replace him?
  13. Its a new version of the shift....Maddon started it in Chicago.
  14. Ummm....how do you figure that? We are second in runs scored in the AL and first in OPS. And Benni will be fine.....not worried about him or where he hits in the lineup.
  15. I would put money down that Benny will end the year with an OPS of at least .780.
  16. He was on first base when JD hit a drive that bounced off the RF wall with two outs. The ball bounced away from the OFers and Hanley, thinking it was a HR all the way, jogged from first to second. Once he realized it wasn't a HR he turned on the jets, running through a stop sign by the 3B coach. Out at the plate.
  17. Not liking Donaldson up here....
  18. We lose this game and I blame Ramirez. His run would have won this game in nine
  19. Get him the f*** out of this game
  20. This bullpen didn't learn its lesson....more walks. Just stupid.
  21. Shoulda sat Hanley down I guess....hopefully he never reaches 497 PAs.
  22. Hanley can make up for his brain dead baserunning play here
  23. A's now leading the Yankees 10-5
