  1. Our awful bullpen just held on to a game giving up one run in four innings. Bums. All of them bums.
  2. Some folks here get confused when presented with facts.
  3. Kimbrel is off....lack of command. Tying run to the plate.
  4. Meh.....my vision isn't what it used to be.
  5. Since May 10, in 35 appearances, -thats three months-Barnes has had an ERA under 2 with a BAA of .176. He has been consistently excellent. There is no cogent argument that can be made that he has not done everything asked of him this year. Perfect? No. No one is. But I would take those stats from any RP on my team.
  6. Fair enough. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, keep in mind that Barnes has been excellent over the past 20 appearances. I don't think you can expect more than what he has done.
  7. I assume thats tongue in cheek. You cannot argue with statistics.....you are not allowed to disbelieve them.
  8. Since June 17 Barnes has had an ERA of 1.77 and an OPSa of .475 in 20 appearances. What more do you want from this guy?
  9. Not a good day for the pen...no doubt about it.
  10. Moreland's swing is painful to watch....he can't stop bailing out.
  11. Our bullpen is going to be competitive in the playoffs. Don't forget: we have the best offense in the game, and the other guys are going to have to face our lineup. I don't see us dominating Houston or NY, but the reverse is also true. Whoever gets hot will be in the WS.
  12. Not any more. I think Johnson is much more effective as a SP.
  13. That is factually inaccurate, as I noted above. We are fourth in ERA in the AL for RPs, just 0.35 RPG behind the leader. Although we are sixth in WHIP for RPs we are just 0.03 from being third. We are also fourth in OPSa. No pen is going to do the job every game. The Yankees "dominant pen" didn't do so well against us last time out, did they. We have a decent pen, not a great one. We have a great offense and a very good rotation. This team has as good a chance as Houston and NY win a ring.
  14. There are 8 bullpens in the AL that are shakier.
  15. Our ******* just struck a guy out with the bases loaded. This is not a bad bullpen at all. They are fourth in the league in ERA...I will take that.
  16. Take him out right now
  17. We will be very lucky if Thornburg gets out of this inning unscathed....looking pretty horrible out there today. I would have someone up in the pen right now.
  18. Not liking Thornburg's command here
  19. Wasted opportunity there....
  20. The decision to start a game rests with the home team. The decision to stop the game (temporarily or otherwise) rests with the umps.
  21. His improvement began on June 23 or thereabouts. On that date he was hitting .178/.563; in 37 games and 142 PAs since then he has hit .268/.842. Of late he has been hitting the ball to all fields. I think earlier he was trying to pull everything and couldn't catch up to a fastball. Now he is fouling them off if they are not hittable strikes. Lets hope it continues.
  22. Damn...Yankees up 5-3 on a HR by Anduhar
  23. Rangers just tied up the Yankees on a balk by Betances
