  1. It’s all part of the plan to go “full throttle”. What a disgusting franchise this team has turned into. Another last place finish here we come!
  2. Yeah....they have "shown interest" in a lot of players. And they still haven't spent any money on high quality players that would possibly bring the franchise back to relevance. Martin just signed with the Rangers. There are a few good players still unsigned and we still have needs. Henry is STILL trying to do it on the cheap. He really needs to sell the team. We deserve better.
  3. Yes, but they were “interested” in many of them. That counts, right? Henry has turned in a real penny pincher who doesn’t seem to care about the quality of the product he puts on the field. When you look at some of the other big market teams and what they have done recently Henry’s prowess at not spending is obvious. We deserve better……
  4. How much is Burnes getting? How about Fried….or Hernandez?
  5. North of SF. But I visit my family in MA regularly and sometimes attend games. No more Does it matter to you whether or not the team contends for a playoff spot with regularity?
  6. Ummm….there are other places where you could have done the family bonding thing you know. When folks support a crap teams owners by showing up at the park there’s no incentive for them to make the team better by spending money. It’s only when fans stay home or show up to boo the product on the field that the owners might be inclined to spend to improve the team. I’ll be staying home. You should too.
  7. Yup the lemmings still come to the park, though I believe attendance has been dropping a bit. Not enough, but a trickle. Let’s hope the fans get the message and STAY HOME!
  8. You know, I could almost deal with the mediocrity IF the ownership demonstrated some evidence that they were trying to compete as a large market team. When was the last time they signed a high priced talented FA?
  9. I don't care one bit about the Cubs or any other team than the Red Sox......and in a negative way about the Yankees. Attend all the Cubs games you like. Stay home from the Red Sox games. Let Henry know this is not acceptable.
  10. That would make us LESS THAN mediocre. We should be playing meaningful baseball nearly every September, but we haven't been. I'd question anyone claiming to be an ardent fan who is satisfied with the dung heap Henry is putting out there for the last several years. I know I am not part of those who sit and smile drooling at the bums that have made up our team for the last several years.
  11. Red Sox fans are some of the most ardent and loyal fans on the planet. I doubt a significant number of people at the park are fans of other teams. As ardent die hard fans we always want what is best for the team. Usually thats hoping they win as much as possible. Sometimes its hoping they lose to improve their draft position. And ardent fans want a winner on the field-ideally a WS winner, but at the very least a team that competes for a playoff spot nearly every year. That has not happened recently, and its the fault of ownership and management. We have limited ways to demonstrate our displeasure, and one way is to BOYCOTT the park.
  12. I am not TELLING anyone what to do. You misunderstand me. I am ENCOURAGING everyone to do the right thing and STAY HOME. Do not support a billionairre cheapskate owner who thinks its fine to put a mediocre (or worse) product on the field.
  13. And those people are even more disgusting than Henry, as a wrote earlier. Those who attend games accept mediocrity or worse. I am proud not to be one of them.
  14. Yes-but the "entertainment value"!!! And I believe still below the LT despite going "full throttle". Ownership isn't fooling anyone with half a brain. They talk the talk but never walk the walk, at least not recently.
  15. Our "entertainment needs" are not being met be last place finishes year after year and putting a bunch of losers on the field who really aren't good enough for the playoffs in the years they don't finish last. This is NOT a small market team. Henry is playing it like it is, but its not a small market team. NO ONE should accept the garbage teams he has put on the field for years. The only language he will understand is an empty ballpark. Lets hope that the fans stay HOME.
  16. We aren't getting Vlad. Too expensive for our cheapskate owner. We aren't getting Santander either. Likely even Bregman is too expensive. We are "interested in" all these guys, but it ends there. Henry is pathetic, but the fan base that goes to the games to support these antics are even worse.
  17. Yeah. Lets see what Henry can drag out of the bottom of the barrel on the cheap. This team isn't going to be relevant until he opens his purse. You know it. I know it. Get some more clothespins because there's going to be another stinky year ahead.
  18. It was apparently an easy choice for the cheapskate Henry to make. A reclamation project for one year vs an established very good SP for 6. How disgusting is this? Cross Burnes and Hernandez off the list. They haven't even met with Sasaki. Bregman is on the decline. I guess Santander would be acceptable, but we aren't getting him either. Everyone should hold their noses. Again. I am already counting these buffoons out of October baseball.
  19. Burnes signed with the DBacks. There are no signs that Henry is serious about making these goons a competitive team. Lets see how much more BS the fans will take before they stop going to the park or buying Flops products. I know I won't be going to the park or supporting this team with my wallet at all. Hopefully many others will join me.
  20. Well Hernandez is off the table. Despite our clear need for a good RHB the Flops were apparently never close to signing him. Henry has become a disgusting owner. It’s obvious that he couldn’t care less about presenting a good product for the loyal fans. I am quite sure we aren’t getting anyone of quality to meet our needs.
  21. Hey-don’t worry! Ownership has stated that they are going FULL THROTTLE to become competitive. Therefore I’m sure they’ll fill our needs and sign both Burnes and Hernandez.
  22. Yeah. Henry has spent a BUNDLE going FULL THROTTLE to upgrade the team. With trades and reclamation projects. This team doesn't deserve its loyal fan base.
  23. I was unaware of how the bidding process works, that you are limited on how much you can offer. As long as Henry made a max bid that’s all you can ask for. That said, I don’t exactly see evidence that they are serious about obtaining any of the high profile FAs. Burnes and Hernandez are still available. Bregman might help a bit but he’s “Hernandez-light”. I can’t even remember the last expensive FA they signed. All talk. No action.
  24. I get that. I cannot blame ownership for not bidding more than others if its not possible to do so. HOWEVER, how are the negotiations with Hernandez and Burnes going? Like others here reclamation dumpster diving doesn't cut it for me. Who exactly has Henry obtained that cost him significant money? He's trying to make the team relevant on the CHEAP and he's not fooling anyone.
  25. I think that some fans are happy just to watch baseball regardless of whether or not your team stinks or is just mediocre. And thats fine. For me, I want to see a competitive team nearly every year, especially when I know the money is there to compete.
