  1. Rafaela Ks for the third time Yawwwwwwn…..
  2. Breslow failed to provide the team with a good #2 SP and a quality 1B not to mention bolstering the pen. We aren’t going to agree. So far Matz has done well but May is very suspect. I’d give him a C-
  3. Cora didn’t pull him. Fitts finished the inning. And I expected even worse from him.
  4. Fitts didn’t do awful. He kept the team in the game at least and didn’t get blown out
  5. Doesn’t make sense to me with all the games on the schedule over the next three weeks.
  6. Well they accomplished what they needed to do: win the series. Now they need to make sure they win the series in Baltimore too. I’d like to see what Fitts can do. He’s pitched some decent games.
  7. I don’t get this move by Cora. May is at only at about 70 pitches I think.
  8. I’d keep May out there until he’s at 110-115 pitches to save the pen. Got your vs the O’s coming up. Gotta win that series too.
  9. I don’t think anyone should expect a #4-5 SP to be great every time out
  10. “ Now let’s sweep these bastards! The Yankmees are a good fastball hitting team and May has a good sweeper. If he can locate it today we have a good chance to do it.” Nuff said
  11. Just keep waiting. I’ll let you know when I’m finished
  12. Not sure I like Rafaela doing interviews while he’s playing

  14. I wouldn’t expect a team completely made up of above average players. I am quite sure that’s never happened. So as I wrote as long as there aren’t any or many black holes on the team we can afford one or two on our hypothetical championship team. My sport in college was hockey. I didn’t play for the college team but I think we were probably just as good. It was an independent league and several of the players went on to play professionally at the Jr A level. Not sure if anyone made it to the NHL. I also played chess in HS and won. National title in my division there along with several New England college championships. played a little baseball. Nothing significant. I like wat it but until they sped up the game it was so damn slow….it’s better now.
  15. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised but I don’t see him significantly improving offensively. It’s possible. I’m not expecting it. If he is league average at OPS I’d play him. That’s .720. Otherwise he’s a late inning defensive replacement on my team unless the rest of the team are mashers. At the end of the day you have to be able to score runs. We don’t need another JBJ on the Red Sox.
  16. His fatal flaw is lack of plate discipline. I don’t see that changing. I said earlier I thought he’d hit about .720-.740 by the end of the year and he’s already below that. There has to be a level at which it’s not worth having him in the lineup. We don’t need another JBJ unless there are no other black holes. My level is .720. Where’s yours?
  17. Cedanne is down to .714 OPS and sinking fast. In his last 16 games in 61 PA he is batting .127/.395. One could have guessed that his lack of plate discipline would bite him as the season wore on and he got more and more tired, like all of them. His contribution is defense and he is best in CF. I think that is where he should play every day he is in the lineup. Cora has to deal with 2B some other way.
