  1. Ive complained plenty about umpiring after a win and ive seen plenty others do it too. Funny the only two posters who mention that are a Mariners fan and a MFY fan...
  2. Ive never liked the way hes handled the pitching staff overall. The bullpen has had a bunch of head scratchers for moves since hes been here...for a guy who used to pitch I figured he would manage that a bit better.... He handles the players, media, and all that stuff great. Im just not in favor of his overall in game management. This includes Toronto as well. Heard a lot of the same stuff from them that a lot of Sox fans are saying. I think hes great with the scouting and development. Won an award in Cleveland. To me, i think he would be better in a Fo position. Seriously, I thought Tito was a better all around fit as a Manager.
  3. And the last three games hes gone 2.2 IP with 2bb and 0 runs. All with guys on base. High leverage situations. Hes been very good recently. Also with Taz and Koji, he will been saving their arms. Just too much negative about it IMHO. I know it was just a thought, but I dont think its a good idea. I think you are right that they will look internally first...over the next month or so and then see where they are at.
  4. No, maybe it was worded wrong, but i know what i meant. I realize a lot of times i have to explain myself further because the way i word some things. Talking is easier for me than texting. Less misunderstandings.
  5. Haha...hes lucky, i saw Kimbrel coming out before the commercial
  6. Papi saves Farrells ass...so now do you bring Kimbrel back out?
  7. Hey Yaz... Yeah, I know. Barnes has looked pretty good as of late with his FB hitting 98-100MPH. Why not bring him back for the 8th. Its not like he cant get a LHH out. Friggin Farrell seems to think that you HAVE to have a L on L matchup all the time and you dont. If a kid like Barnes looks good, you go eith the hot hand. Layne hasnt looked all that great and he hit a guy. taz completely blows in Toronto...this one is on Farrell IMHO.
  8. Once again Farrell has no clue how to use his pen...just my opinion of course Barnes has looked really good as of late. Why only use him for one out? Taz has always sucked in Toronto. I wouldve brought Barnes out for the 8th and a LHP warming. Now Kimbrel has to get 5.
  9. Ok, so because i personally dont find it useful in a certain situation its a cop out? Lol Whatever man... What i find funny talking to the big time stat guys (not everyone, but most) is whenever i say that i dont find a certain stat useful for a certain situation they start claiming its a cop out because i dont understand it or im just old school or some other pile of ********.... I understand all the stats. New and old. I also understand what and why people use them. I also understand that you use more than just one in certain situations...yeah, I got it. Thanks. Personally i dont care to analyze every tiny little aspect of the game with numbers because its too much for me to enjoy the game. If some of you do, then more power to ya. That doesnt mean i think they are useless for crying out loud...so do me a favor and stop with the "its a cop out" crap and the "you just dont understand how it works" BS....
  10. Recently Moon, I said recently hes looked real good. .dont look at his whole year. He's looked great with runners on and shutting things down, as i type this he did it again with two runners on and getting EE out. He just needed time to adjust to this role from a starter. Trying to stretch him out might mess things up in that pen and it would take some time to do so. That, and he never looked all that good as a starter. Why mess with something that seems to have clicked with him recently?
  11. Totally against that right now. He has taken since last year to finally adjust to the pen and is throwing 98-100MPH with control. He started to look real good recently. With Carson Smith out until the end of next year, Barnes role is a very important one. Hes saving the arms of taz and Koji. Koji is done after this year and will need to be replaced if they dont offer gim another deal. Is Taz a FA or arb 3? Anyway, although I understand why, I think that move would hurt the bullpen and Barnes. Leave him where he is. He was never affective as a starter and hes looking like he could be an important part of the pen for a few years.
  12. Very true. If you cant watch the games, it can help. ive already said that abot Vaz (which is where this discussion started) he was making solid contact, but hitting it right at someone. Ground balls and line drives. A few weak ones, but all in all he was making solid contact but making outs. I didnt need any stats to tell me that. Thats all i said. I watch the games. Like I always say about every stat. They all have a use. With me, it just depends on the situation whether i need a certain stat or not to help me. I made the statement that this stat is useless to me in this situation and the stat guys jumped all over me and took what I said out of context which lead to all this...
  13. Yup..Its official...Buch to the pen for long relief...not feeling all that good about that move, but really, what else? They have zero depth thats worth talking about. Hes going to have to be shopped. Just pay his salary for the year so we can get something back and hope ERod and Kelly can do well
  14. Well this ought to be interesting...a guy who starts slow as a long reliever... We can only pray that the starters can go at least 5-6 IP
  15. Not a WS caliber rotation IMO. Not Yet anyway. I think it will be one way or another. Whether its done Internally or externally.
  16. Swihart is back up out of necessity again. We need a LHH to replace Holt. His value has not gone down. If anything its gone up with his bat looking good. Hes still got work to do defensively as a catcher, but the Sox needs come first. He will get more reps, whether in Boston, Pawtucket or in another organization. His value is just fine.
  17. Lol, there was meant to be a bit of sarcasm in that post. Point being...im over Buchholz!!!
  18. Exactly. Buchs 5-6 era is really not much better when your talking about sucking or really sucking... I mean, cant we just call up Kieth Couch or Wilkerson from AA? Cant be that much worse...maybe one will do well. All im saying is im ready to give someone whos even remotely close a shot at this point...
  19. Exactly...thats not really important in this situation. More of a novelty stat. Even when a dude hits a hr. As long as it left the park, who really gives a s***? We know he hit it hard enough to go over the fence and we know about how far it traveled. What more do we really need to know thats important? Not saying its useless or it has no purpose, Just That its really not all that important and more of a novelty in some stats...
  20. Seems Swihart is here out of necessity again. Only this time in LF. Hes still got plenty of value to other teams. If he hits here as a Lfer, which he is, then his value will rise. The Mets lost D'aranud for the year...they also have a ton of good young pitching not named Harvey.
  21. See, thats more like what i was thinking. Lower end prospects like that.
  22. He hit 93 and 94 after the 2nd and 3rd hr...im guessing he was pissed off because he was around 92 most of the night. Point being was its not an arm isse... Either way bro, Clay has lost his spot in the rotation it would seem...Hopefully Erod and Kelly can give thsi rotation a lift so we dnt have to lose a bunch of valuable prospects for an overpriced deadline deal...
  23. Please dont misunderstand what Im saying...im all about a good balance with everything in life. That includes the use of all these new stats. I dont need to use every new stat is what i was saying. Not that i dont understand how they work and what they do...so yes, i dont care about Vaz' velocity coming off the bat to know if hes making solid contact...i can see that he did or not...The fun is seeing how fast it came off his bat. I mean, Hes made great contact only to be hit right at someone. Hes also hit a dribbler for an IF hit... Seriously, we dont need every new stat out there for every situation, . Its hardly a cop out. Just because I dont feel the need for a certain stat doesnt mean anything. If i find a use for it, ill use it. Its of no use to me in this situation concerning how fast it comes off his bat.
